Villain has a 88% fold to 3bet. But the dynamic has been that I got a couple of hands in a row and have been fairly aggressive at the table.

I 3bet pre to take down the pot and have a hand with a good playability. There are arguments for calling as well for sure.

Postflop, I cbet to take down the pot and protect my equity.

On the turn, I expect him to have 99-JJ as overpairs, 22-33, 55 as set combos, and maybe A4s-A5s that beat us (33 Combos), and hands such as AJs and AQ, maybe AK and 44, 66-77. A3s that we have beat. But most of them (maybe all fold). Therefore: Maybe it's better to check and try to go to showdown and just fold if he bets? My gut feeling tells me that he won't bluff at all here (just because he's not the type of player) and is happy to go to showdown as well with his Ahigh's and weaker Pockets.

If villain folds a lot vs 3bets I think it is ok. Normally I would just call or even fold. Villain is short and you maybe can't setmine profitably.
I guess since his fold to 3bet is so low your play postflop might be too much? At least on the turn.

3b vs short may not be a good idea. Do not get excited postflop when he calls.
