Hello!

A friend of me told me I should make use of this forum as discussing my hands would improve my game a lot. I don't have any experience with poker forums so if any information is missing, call me out on it!

The following is a hand I played in a full ring 5NL game:

UTG: $4.23
UTG+1: $5.40
Hero (MP1): $5.31
MP2: $6.03
CO: $9.31
BTN: $5.20
SB: $4.95
BB: $5.35

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is MP1 with 9 :spade: 8 :spade:
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, 1 fold, CO raises to $0.45, 1 fold, SB calls $0.43, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.30

Flop: ($1.40) 7  6 :spade: J  (3 players)
SB bets $0.90, Hero calls $0.90, CO folds

Turn: ($3.20) A  (2 players)
SB bets $3.60 all in, Hero folds

Did I make a mistake here? Preflop I got 3.7 to 1 on a call so I think it was the right thing to do. But with a 3.4 SPR on the flop do you think I should have called the bet or would I be better off folding? Or should I have taken a more aggressive approach to the hand?

Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

I 4bet this preflop. Or fold. As played, postflop seems ok.

Pre my standard vs 3bet would be fold from this position. Now that SB calls too you get better SPR and more implied odds so I guess calling is not that bad. I would not 4bet this hand because with this kind of hand you benefit from higher stack to pot ratio and now you are out of position. I think when oop it would be better to 4bet hands that have blockers. So, if you 4bet this hand it is more likely you end up playing postflop with a speculative hand out of position and in a big pot, not for me.

Postflop you played fine. If you don't get the correct direct odds you at least have enough implieds to call once. OTT it is an easy fold.

Seems fun to me, really? 4b at NL5 from MP1 with 9s8s when CO 3b MP1 and SB CC 3B?

Ohh, sorry, I didn´t notice one villain called. In that case I call. If we are against CO only, it´s ok to 4 bet, right?
