iPoker - €0.02 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG+1: 78 BB
Hero (MP): 99 BB
MP+1: 99 BB
CO: 122 BB
BTN: 71.5 BB
SB: 96.5 BB
BB: 68.5 BB
UTG: 96.5 BB (VPIP: 15.20, PFR: 1.43, 3Bet Preflop: 1.95, Hands: 423) c-r OTF 10%(2/10).

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has Q♣ Q♥

UTG calls 1 BB, fold, Hero raises to 4 BB, fold, fold, BTN calls 4 BB, fold, fold, UTG calls 3 BB

Flop: (13.5 BB, 3 players) J♠ J♦ 3♥
UTG checks, Hero bets 8 BB, fold, UTG raises to 19 BB, Hero calls 11 BB

Turn: (51.5 BB, 2 players) 5♣
UTG bets 25.5 BB, fold,

Did smaller cbet OTF, to get calls from worse hands or get re-raised from a jack.
Villain seems tight but I still decided to call. My thought was that why re-raise if hitting trips OTF and I did not put higher pockets is in range.

Should I fold the re-raise or is the call ok? Or should I even 3bet?
OTT I do not think I can keep calling?

All feedback is welcome.

Cheers!

Interesting hand, but it’s difficult to think like a passive player like him and I wouldn’t be surprise he would only raise with mid pairs and monster hands like this and I don’t think it’s bad to call 1 street to see what he will do on the turn.

Cheers,

Against standard villain I would call OTF and probably call that turn bet too..

This villain looks veeery tight and passive pre flop. He raises first in with very tight value range, he 3bets with very tight value range. Why would he check raise the flop as a bluff?

Against this guy it might be fine to fold already OTF.

Xr from a passive guy is strong so we can fold the flop.

Maybe I could have checked OTF even. But I rather protect than giving free overcards OTT.
I did not think he would play trips so aggressively OTF, which is why I decided to call.
OTT I had to give him some credit and fold, but maybe I just go bullied.

AFq is ~28%, flop and total.

Thanks for your feedback, guys! :)

As an aside, if holding AA, a flop check would provably (using any realistic assumptions) be the best play. You would hardly even be giving free cards to hands that can draw out (like pp), since they probably call once anyway. You'd save money if they hit or if they already have you crushed. Then, if they don't have you crushed, and don't draw out (which is almost all of the time), they might make an overpair and bet it, or bluff if they miss.
