Hi Everyone,
I'm what would be classed as a "losing player", that would like to get better. Every month I plan out a strategy for what I'm going to play and how I'm best going to use my $70 deposit to build a bankroll.
However, I start playing and I either get bored, distracted or start losing on the path I've chosen and I dabble in other areas and lose more of my bankroll (i.e. I plan on playing Zoom Cash and then play Zoom MTT's, Spin n Go's, Satellites and whatever the Stars challenge is that day). I find myself tilting off my whole stack and always wonder if I had stuck to my plan rigidly where my bankroll would be.
Part of my problem, which must be a common one amongst players who have a family and job is TIME. Before my son came along I could grind out a couple of 7 hour MTT's without a problem but now I struggle with having the time and patience (I know this is a big flaw) to do that. Even Cash is too slow and I prefer Zoom.
I don't want to be a losing recreational player and I know I need to spend more time learning and working on my mindset. I'm not a bad player and I'm very often aware of the mistakes that I make. Could you help me with the three questions below:
Can you point me in the direction of a video/audio book that can best help me have the right mindset to play the same type of poker format consistently and be more disciplined
Can you suggest the best format to grow my bankroll bearing in mind that I generally do better in the high variance hyper/zoom format or should I change completely and play 180 SNG with slow structure. Also any links to videos would be appreciated.
What site should I play on? I have 3 main accounts - Stars, 888 and Party. The games are meant to be easier on the latter 2 but the traffic is slower and software not as nice. Stars always has something available and good software but am I putting myself up against harder players unnecessarily.
I'm planning on studying for the next 14 days and not depositing until March but any guidance/suggestions as to what I should watch will be gratefully appreciated.
