Hi,

I'm quite unsure of which hands I should defend here, should I call, fold or 4 bet?

PokerStars - $0.05 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG+1: 100 BB (VPIP: 9.18, PFR: 7.71, 3Bet Preflop: 2.78, Hands: 1,569)
MP: 109.8 BB (VPIP: 15.72, PFR: 10.69, 3Bet Preflop: 4.84, Hands: 159)
MP+1: 101.8 BB (VPIP: 16.05, PFR: 13.58, 3Bet Preflop: 10.94, Hands: 162)
MP+2: 101.4 BB (VPIP: 15.75, PFR: 10.81, 3Bet Preflop: 3.21, Hands: 859)
CO: 100 BB (VPIP: 17.02, PFR: 13.30, 3Bet Preflop: 3.45, Hands: 189)
BTN: 102.4 BB (VPIP: 17.32, PFR: 12.62, 3Bet Preflop: 4.67, Hands: 2,247)

BB: 80 BB
UTG: 111.8 BB (VPIP: 19.06, PFR: 15.70, 3Bet Preflop: 5.52, Hands: 455)

Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has A♠ 8♠

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, BB raises to 12 BB,

Spoiler

fold

BB wins 6 BB

Theoretically you have to defend about 20% of your opening range against this big 3bet.
I think if A8s is there, it could be a 4bet bluff.

This guy seems to be on the tight side. Do you know if this is his standard 3bet size? I think folding here is not bad either.

I think it's an easy defend with A8s in a blind war

Ok, so around 20% of the opening range. For instance if I have 22 and get reraise I only call if I have 20x the amount och the raise. I think that I might play too tight here some times I basically only 4bet here with AK, AQ or similar.

Don't really know this guy so I decided to fold it, but yes he was playing quite tight the little I had seen.

Ok, so Dadramel when you say defend do you usually just call or try with a 4-bet here?

You can't possibly call a 4x raise with this hand. BB started with only 80 bb. All in or fold. I'd fold.
