Pre Flop: (pot: 2.63 BB) Hero has 4♦ 4♣

fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to 2 BB, fold, Hero calls 1 BB

Flop: (5.63 BB, 2 players) J♥ 2♣ 8♦

Turn: (5.63 BB, 2 players) 2♥

Hero checks, BTN bets 3 BB, Hero raises to 9.9 BB, BTN calls 6.9 BB

Hero shows 4♦ 4♣ (Two Pair, Fours and Twos)
(Pre 53%, Flop 72%, Turn 86%)

Spoiler

b]BTN shows K♠ Q♥ (Two Pair, Kings and Twos)
(Pre 47%, Flop 28%, Turn 14%)
BTN wins 29.83 BB

the river sizing is pretty bad... should at least bet like 33k to give him bad price
but a similar river spot occured vs this opponent where he lead as bb on the river and i raised him 3x and got the nutz so i orientated myself on his thinking (like one does in every spot most of the time) based on this previous river spot in sizingdecissions

but this assuptions was weak. this is a diffrent spot with diffrent board texture and ranges.

the hero turn lead range contains:

-made pairs
-flush and straight draws
-trips 50% of the time
-set of 88

so i rep a pretty narrow range and need to go for more value if i have one of the strong hands on the river....i also like to get more polarized if i got value and with bluffs it has more fold equity. and with a bigger bet i would get him off i felt it because he was a bit demoralized from the hand where he paid off, but its a precise sizing...didnt figured it out till now

I would prefer 3bet preflop as you cant play very good postflop with pocket of fours. Most time you will get 3 overcards on flop and you will have only 4th pair and even if you will get your set then its hard to play it heads up OOP.

All other seems fine except the river reraise. It was too low, he had to call only 6,9BB to win 22BB which is easy call with KQ here.

If you had a flush on the river you would most likely bet for value. I don’t think against most likely a fish check/raising as bluff will work and if you check I would just fold. I don’t think you can bluff catch with 44.

*in my opinion you need to check on this river some nut hands thats mandatory, because he will bet some bluffs here because why we wanna check raise with also some bluffs...you know when u at the bottom of the calling range which we are its ok to good move to turn it into bluffs....you cant always check the river with plan to check call or check fold with all made hands ....thats too weak strategy because too transparent

I don’t think against most likely a fish check/raising as bluff will work*(dude do you think honestly he is fish????????!!! he is a regular player man his skillevel is 89 on sharkscope! ) and if you check I would just fold. I don’t think you can bluff catch with 44.

You talk about ranges and balancing so you clearly have studied this a bit. But for me this looks like the application of your strategy needs some working.
I'm not a tournament player but that river check raise was bad imo.

Against a 20 VPIP and 5PFR player we can’t expect he would bluff to often on the river I think. Based on those stats I would give him most of the time a fish mark as well. Off course without knowing his nickname I don’t know his results on Sharkscope or Pokerprolabs.

That makes your comment weird in my eyes, but that’s my opinion.

That’s true, but it’s a small indication. I don’t think a good player will have to often a VPIP of 20 and a PFR of 5. Even on a low sample like this. Also, the skill level said not too much if we don’t have a sample of games on him. If it’s based on only 100 games on a lower average buy-inn at isn’t a good indication ether.

I don’t care what my skill level is on Sharkscope, but no 1 can find it ether :f_cool:

i think to reach a skilllevel of 89 you need to win big tourneys u cannot reach that with small stakes . f.e. the Big 22 got an average skillevel of 69 so i think to get 89 u need to at least final table it everytime u play that imo...
like fedor holz or charlie carrel they got all skillevel over 93 at least...

a good player can for sure have 20 and 5 on sample of 20 hands

because just he raised one hand and 3 hands he call : two times BB one time just trapped....i wouldnt rely on the factor of 20 hands he can easy got in 5k hands vpip16 pfr 14 (what kinda optimal ranges no?)

thank you

(1) i think only in ranges like every1 else nowadays who takes it a bit more serious and i do work on it (this post is a part of it brother). but like i said i rep a pretty narrow range thats always hard to get through and may a overbet river would have got the job done. like does he never bluff the river on a king or an ace? and do i wanna always bet the nutz? theese are good questions wich lead to decent solutions
(2) some explainations why and so on.... are always nice buddy...

anyways, thank you for answering
cheers
