Promises, promises, budget inclusions, PPA positive teasers, etc., etc., etc. Having been the top dog of another association that lobbied for legislation over many a tricky and pot hole filled landscape, I fully understand the difficulty of getting a bill on the Governor's desk and, more importantly, getting the Gov to sign it. I started playing online almost a decade ago as a self taught Mega-Fish and it has taken that long for me to finally get serious about studying the game. My bookshelves are bowed in the middle by the weight of how-to books and there is a pile of dusty how-to videos laying in the corner somewhere. I started with cash games and eventually gravitated to SNGs. Along the way, I had unbelievably good luck winning a huge amount of money that had absolutely no direct relationship to my skill as a player. (I lost a $60 pot playing on UB which wound up earning me one of the largest payouts ever in the UB "Bad Beat" contest.) I now go through the forums and feel like a complete idiot when I run into the alphabet shorthand descriptors (fdb, hud, etc.) and haven't gotten a handle on understanding "rakeback" yet. I'm retired and don't have a monster bankroll to experiment with and have found I now do best by cowardly playing micro double and triple payout SNGs. Before Black Friday, when I had a job with income, I had an account at most of the poker sites du jour. Now I'm limited to one account with a site that accepts my money charged through an exotic offshore bank. So I'm looking forward to, and lobbying for, PA being the next state to legalize online poker; hopefully before I die. I'm hoping to build a bankroll of sufficient size to make my serious re-entry into competitive poker more than a means to piss away the few extra bucks I have left over at the end of the month. The foregoing may explain the choice I made for my screen. name.

Hey dedbroke,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com
I can certainly commiserate with you in regards to legislation as here in Australia we have new laws that take effect next week that effectively bans real money online poker. I once had almost 20 different rooms, now I have 5 and I am still losing them.
