AKs Facing Pre-flop 4-Bet

Just shove preflop and save yourself the trouble.

I think both options are ok. From these positions AKs should be good enough to shove but when you are IP and your hand is suited I don't think just calling is bad either.

It is when you cannot play it postflop as in this case. Shoving it eliminates every single mistake you could make postflop.

I just find that in the lower stakes people just 4-bet/shove KK, AA and AK.

It is a blind vs blind situation, people will 4bet all kind of hands. They will also call a lot wider than AK, QQ+.
At least if u call, make a 14-15BB bet on the flop, not 25BB.

Shoving is standard, but calling is fine too as long as you play it better than this.

As played, broke turn, you have invested too much to let go on a blank river.

It is perfectly okay played, street by street.

Preflop: AKs, and more so AKo are nice hands to move AI with when out of position. You aren't.

Flop: Good bet. That rinses out the riff-raff. Now he most likely has an overpair or better. Overpairs normally bet flop. But him calling with just two overcards is not likely. (They are even more certain to bet flop themselves if they chose to stay.)

Turn: Now take that free card. He isn't folding a better hand than yours. Only rationale to bet is to avoid getting bluffed out. Not enough, and scared poker.

River: Well, hand it to him and save 53 bb. Most players would get that 53 bb in one way or another and usually lose. Sure; sometimes you get bluffed out. A good player allows for that to happen on occasion (or goes broke).
