Guy UTG has been very tight. Is there any reason to fold AQ to his open shove ? this was 12 left in the big $5.50 but my stack was I think 11th/10th so can I fold AQ ? the money only really starts to get really tempting in the last 5/6 and players stacks on both tables are even enough that no one is taking big risks. lots of walks and uncalled min raises. could I have let this one slide and used an 18bb stack to force some folds with other hands when folded to ? or call and gamble for more competitive stack ?

If the UTG player is playing tight the whole time like 15 VPIP and 15 PFR or lower for example I would make a tight fold with AQo as well in a 6-handed game, but it’s most likely the best hand I would fold here.

UTG range is about AA-99,AK,AQ.
That would make it a fold from me

That range seems very tight to me. Especially in a MTT I would shove at least any pair and most suited aces here. If the UTG player wasn’t a nit I would isolate shove AQo for sure.

Nash shows for utg to push 20.2% and for SB to reshove 12.7%, AQo giving +6.02 CHIP EV
ICM doesnt apply right? We wanna be in a good position at the FT right?

Right ok he is tight but in order for AQo to be -EV here he needs to push max 8% of hod range (66+ ATs+ AJo+)
If he really is that tight at 12bbs stack then I guess we can fold :f_biggrin:

Random player in this spot will shove with pp. Very unlikely to see other hand in his range. AQo needs more, than "probably". You can ask ur friend Nash. He knows. He have at least 1kk micro tournaments.

Really? And this is profitable? Vs the real ranges , not vs some unreal ranges from the charts. There is HRC, you can see how profitable is this.
