Hi kaptein,
I played a freeroll today on pokerstars.

You can see my chip graph here:
https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=2737222#post2737222

I ran really well, and was hyper aggressive once I had the chip lead -- this included 3Bet shoving quite frequently.
In most cases, I got folds, and a couple of times I sucked out. Here is an example:

Spoiler

PokerStars - 2000/4000 Ante 400 NL - Holdem - 5 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 233,276 (VPIP: 64.71, PFR: 47.06, 3Bet Preflop: 16.67, Hands: 18)
SB: 110,173 (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 18)
Hero (BB): 117,770
UTG: 153,204 (VPIP: 21.88, PFR: 20.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 33)
CO: 185,577 (VPIP: 27.78, PFR: 19.35, 3Bet Preflop: 9.09, Hands: 38)

5 players post ante of 0, SB posts SB 2,000, Hero posts BB 4,000

Pre Flop: (pot: 8,000) Hero has 9♥ J♠

fold, fold, BTN raises to 232,876 and is all-in, fold, Hero calls 113,370 and is all-in

Flop: (238,740, 2 players) J♦ 8♥ 2♠

Turn: (238,740, 2 players) 9♠

River: (238,740, 2 players) 3♣

Spoiler

Hero shows 9♥ J♠ (Two Pair, Jacks and Nines)
(Pre 42%, Flop 85%, Turn 100%)
BTN shows 4♥ K♥ (High Card, King)
(Pre 58%, Flop 15%, Turn 0%)
Hero wins 238,740

Check Hand of the Day for a bunch of other weird hands.

This sort of run is very rare for me, but can you blame the site for the behaviour of a single player?
Next question: Can you suggest a business model where it is of benefit to the company to run a crooked game?

Best of luck,
VS

As far as I can see - those are number of daily $10-$20 freerolls with tons of players, so basically there you can see pretty much everything and you shouldn't draw your own conclusions about poker site or about the online poker in general :)
For sure it's a losing strategy, but... but because of the way the League works it may be a winning one as you are interested only in the leaderboard results and I don't thin it's worth to invest time on the actual play.
So just like in the all-in tournaments where the winner is the lucky guy to win in XX times in a row - with enough volume of tournaments you could see something similar. :f_p:

Not on pokerstars. It is fairly rigged, they keep a profile on the players. ex: how much you deposit, hours you've played each day, skill level, format of poker, each action on the street, bet size, win/lose to determine who wins the pot.

When I first joined pokerstars 5 years ago, it is by far the leading industry back in the days and it was heavily advertised. they uses media as an advantage to lure massive amount of recreational players / all kinds of players to the site, but popular and lots of people playing and game being fair is entirely different story.

pokerstars is the only site that I cant make money mainly because the players are good and the cards can be rigged for players to win when your time to lose has come, aka, we've lure you in and it's time for us to take your mpney.
