Hi everyone,

here I have AJo in the SB. We are on the bubble and the chipleader decides to push from the CO. Due to Nash he can push with any two. Although he was pretty loose and did abuse the bubble with lots of pushes/raises I don't think he will push atc. The question is, how big is his pushing range? If he pushes around 63%+ a call is +EV. Would you set him on a minimum of 63% and call here?

PokerStars - 150/300 Ante 25 NL - Holdem - 4 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

CO: 17.69 BB (VPIP: 47.37, PFR: 39.22, 3Bet Preflop: 11.76, Hands: 62)
BTN: 8.6 BB (VPIP: 10.98, PFR: 9.92, 3Bet Preflop: 4.82, Hands: 273)
Hero (SB): 7.27 BB
BB: 11.44 BB (VPIP: 19.78, PFR: 17.06, 3Bet Preflop: 13.85, Hands: 184)

4 players post ante of 0 BB, Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.83 BB) Hero has J♠ A♦

CO raises to 17.61 BB and is all-in, fold, Hero???

Well you are the short stack and this is a good hand to call, he seems agressive and is probably putting pressure since he is cheapleader so my guess is that he's shoving worse hands than yours, unless this is his first shove.....

I doubt he would shove any 2, but as short stack you need to gamble and AJo is a good hand for this. If you was 3rd in chips I would fold this for sure.

Basically, the lower our M-Ratio is, the wider our shoving range becomes?

Being the short-stack indeed made me call in this spot. Unfortunately his 44 held up. But good to know that my play was correct.

Thanks for your replies :f_thumbsup:

SDK why you would fold if you were third in stacks?

If there would be a shorter stack, the possibility of getting into the money is bigger. So we are losing too much equity when we are losing the hand.

That’s right, but it depends also a lot of the chip dynamic at the table. On the bubble of a 9 mans the ICM will play an high factor and sometimes you need more then 67% equity to make a call profitable.

The reason is that ICM has a huge factor on you if you are 3rd in chips. So that’s pretty much the same what Mooharius already said.
