[NL400] 98s vs recreational (big ROL)

Bet 5bbs otf. Not folding to most c/r-sizes either. Amazing hand to barrel with: when you hit your perceived range misses, when you miss your perceived range hits.

I agree with a small bet OTF. At the micros fish tend to play fit or fold OTF after limp calling pre and they fold a lot. I don't know if this applies in NL400 but I would assume recreationals play the same way there.

About barreling:
It basically looks ok to barrel on cards that improve our equity, but we are playing against recreational player who called once OTF. He could be a station, so do we have enough FE or should we just take a free card?

Fun players definitely do care about scarecards though
They do put you on an ace or AK etc etc. just in a very wrong way, or they at least get afraid of those
It's always good to think as far in the hand tree as you are capable of, that's just good poker.

I really like the 25-40% sizing
but not because of the flop, if you think about a L/C range from UTG you'd definitely want to make it bigger if you go one and done
But because you both get a cheaper price and you get him to float more hands so overall ev increases on turn cards where you either barrel with a bunch of equity with the nut backdoor draw hand we got outselves here
Or a low equity bluff on obvious scarecards for him become clear bets with smaller flop size

And I definitely want to take both lines here with different hands
But this is a no brainer - you have no showdown equity and a hand that is literally the best hand for cbet you ever have because of the backdoor draws and turn cards you improve on

If your plan is to check back turn and get freecards you definitely want to make it bigger on the flop
Just purely not to get called by random Ahi Khi even QJ might call a small flop size

In fact I do this all the time against fun players just go and bet bigger when I just run a pure cbet without backdoors and obvious barrel cards and go smaller with hands like this on a board like this one where you definitely want to barrel some overcards even with low equity

I strongly disagree. They still put you on hands, even if they don't think in terms of ranges like 2/4 regs do. So what i said matters imo.
