How would you play this hand? I shoved river because I was hoping villain hit a flush and my shove would look like I was trying to get him to fold.

Villain was playing loose: 44/11/1/2.88/43 [VPIP/PFR/3b/AF/WTS] over 210 hands. He was also betting a lot and making lots of re-raises in weird spots post flop.

I have moved your hand to our tournament hand discussion forum, because it’s fits better there.

Pre-flop you are calling a raise and that’s no free play, but calling seems fine. As played I would bet the turn at least half pot for value and protection against the fishy player. I expect he would call a 35k bet with the same range as now. Then you can easier shove for value on the river. The river seems standard to me on his weak donk lead.

Cheers,

Oh yes, sorry, not free play but good odds to defend BB.

I will try to get my posts in the correct forum next time.

Thanks for your analysis, SDK.

What about raising on flop? He only bets 1/7 of pot. Does that make our hand too obvious especially as there are 4 opponents on the flop?

His bet is indeed small and raising isn’t a bad option for protection and value. it’s maybe obvious, but it’s a 55c tournament and I wouldn’t be surprised you see still weird calls and they could call with a flush draw for sure.

Preflop: I would have called too
Flop: the same way
Turn: I would bet turn a little over half pot.
River: the same way
