Hello People!

Sometimes people 3-bet pretty wide but without decent sample Im scared to 4-bet light..
Is the checkraise-call good? Or is it overplayed vs an unknown regular. I could check-call otf to see if I hit a flushredraw ott but afaik check-call to check-fold next street is a losing play mostly. How do you defend low lockdown flops oop?

I would play the same way you did against this villain so I'm shocked what he showed up with considering what a nit he is and also over a decent sample size, I was expecting him to have AA that he overplayed otf. Are you sure the stats are correct? Did he maybe lose a big pot just before this one that would make him tilt 3b wide? Otherwise idk how a nit like this would 3b this hand especially vs UTG open, very interesting.

It's called Brainfart-factor. People at micros rarely have really solid mental game skills. So they will do some weird stuff every now and then for some weird reasons. As I have played a lot of PLO5zoom lately for a project stuff, nothing amazes me anymore. Like reg with solid stats and he had been quite solid for ~400 hands, decided to 3bet 200bb deep with A663, and then call a 4bet.

Like in this hand, T876 is a hand you don't really want to have in 3bet pot at the first place, domination problems all over it. And he 3bets UTG open, which doesn't make sense either. Hero played it fine.

And btw, you don't make money by loose 4bets. At micros just stick your 4bet range to AA/AKK/AKQQ against those who 3bet wider. All of your non-bigpaired hands are just flipping against their ranges, and you get a lot better EV by calling and seeing if you hit the flop.

yea spots like this kinda hurt my confidence. probably variance though, just now I had a session where a similar nit squeezed 4way oop and flatcalled my 4b-bet with 7443ss.. sometimes nit really fall out of their game

edit: @kyyberi: ty for the advise about 4-betting. _grin:
