Pre no limping, biaaatches! (please fold)

Flop seems legit i have 2nd pair and not letting any flushdraw see a card cheap.

OTT two higher cards, flush and straight possibility, but i get pot odds for the FD.

ORT the dealer is nice and i get a flush! So im only behind Kc...i think i should x/r, similarly to a hand i posted before.

Not sure why you want to raise pre-flop with KJ out of position.
I doubt you get all players to fold and the change you will play a big pot multi way is decent.
The rest seems alright with the odds you get for the flush.

Of course you can check-raise in the hope for a weak call. For this purpose I would rather raise big than low. Of course it is not the regular play but the betsizes Villain chose were very smallish and weak, so you really want him to have a hard time and force errors. This is not proven to be best strategy of course^^ my mind just tells me instant a few counter-arguments but yeah, I still think those betsizes were a pretty good indication for a weak hand, since they were made on a very wet board. A better play for Villain probably wouldve been a check back check back-line

A check raise OTT looks very strong after that squeeze.
If he calls, well river is a guessing game if you hit.
Like the check call OOP, keeping the pot small. Cbet also looks strong but will cut your range a lot. Check call looks like a draw indeed, but is fine.
River is a bet, why check this?

@SDK : KJo is the most standard iso pre.

@cloven : please x/r any combo except this one lol. It's just the worst choice.

You mean on the river ?
It's thin, but I guess it could work against a moron indeed...

This sounds super super super tight in my ears. I guess on your limit it is the worst choice but on NL2 it sure as hell isnt. There are many players that arent deep into the theory, from my experience most of them are very honest.

I think the option you take OTT depends, as usual, how you want villain to see you. You squeeze pre, cbet OTF and check-raise OTT after a flushdraw completion. Could mean nothing (like in this case, you have a pair and a draw), but 90% of the time villain is going to think you have it (namely, the flush).
General NL2 player won't call this even IP with a mediocre hand. If the call here, usually you know they can stand to you. If they raise, well bye bye .
This is the reason I prefer the check-call (besides, you're getting something like 6-1 odds). However, this is the typical line for playing a draw, so if you hit you may not get paid OTR.
On the other hand, you can win the pot right here, which is always good for your red line .
Raising OTT has advantages and disadvantages. You're playing a drawing hand OOP, so maybe check-raise can have more merit seen from that perspective.
But good look trying to prove that the check-raise as a higher EV than a check-call :f_drink:

i actually checked it back because it seemed the more balanced decision, but then i thought maybe i was being too conservative.

It's because I was talking about the turn lol, that's why I was so surprised.
On the river it could be a value thin at NL2, but it could also be at a way higher stake you know, people "deep into the theory" aren't as nit as you seem to think (and people at higher stakes aren't that deep into the theory anyway lol).
If I had to guess at what stake I'd like it the less I'd clearly say NL10. Those are the real weaktight rock nitty nits. So not that high.

They're even nitty than NL2 nits I find. I've seen players in 200 hands sessions not going to flop once

And then you move up to NL25 and play for stacks every 3 hands
The change is quite big.:truestory:
