Difficult with callers after a raise.

Note: I am a cash player. The advises I will write are for cash games. Tournaments are a completely different thing (we have to take into account stack sizes, stage of the tournament, etc, etc).

It is a clear mistake ignoring any call against a open raise, in any situation. It should influence your range and you should generally tighten up.
You have a better price, but the SB is the worst position on the table. Besides, by calling, you give BB a great price and he can call with basically 90% of the deck in this situation, once he is closing the action. He can also squeeze.
That said, SB calling ranges are getting shorter and shorter this days. There are very few situations where you should cold call/limp from the SB. The most common is limping against BB, but only in higher limits due to the rake issue.
There are even players that don't have calling range for the SB in any situation.

You should not call 44 against a UTG open most of the times. If there is a call in front of you already, 44 is definitely not a call.

I must disagree with the above post a little bit. If we take a look at SB vs UTG, that range should be very tight and basically have very little cold calls. However, when UTG opens and someone calls I think we should widen our calling range quite much.

SB vs UTG I would say calling 44 is not mandatory but should be ok. SB vs UTG + a caller I would say 44 is definitely not not a call (it is a call).
