Here we flop a set. I try not to slow play it since it's a small set and the board could get ugly.

I raise villain's cbet on the flop and he calls, then he check/call the turn and checks on the river. I was afraid of getting raised by a straight or a better set, so I check back. Only later I realized than villain only had half of the pot in his stack, so I should have bet and put villain all-in.

What if villain had more chips left in his stack? Should I bet anyway and fold to a raise? Would anyone call a raise on that spot?

Imo just shove OTF.
You can get calls from KK,AA, AQ,QJ.
When it comes to straights, yea KTs gets there OTT but that is just 4 combos and he might just raise shove there. Maybe. Higher sets might do that too. T8s is not super likely since villain opened this from UTG, I think that would be a bit loose.

Seriously, I'm not even looking for a fight on purpose this time lol (I swear), but shoving that flop ? That makes for a massive overbet

Raise flop bet turn bet river. Straights are possible but unlikely. You have a lot of value. May the poker gods be with you.

Indeed, la55i. I like to shove AA/KK preflop against 3bets from fish and it works fine, but shoving that flop is total non-sense to me.
Ship the rest OTR. If he has it, he has it.
