0,1/0,2 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.67 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BB with Q♦, 8♣
UTG1 folds, UTG2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO calls, 2 folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (5,50 SB) A♣, Q♣, Q♥ (5 players)
Hero bets, UTG2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds.

Turn: (4,25 BB) 5♣ (3 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

River: (7,25 BB) J♣ (3 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, MP2 raises, 2 folds.

Final Pot: 10,25 BB

How do I play on the river?
I'd decided to check call but the raise by MP2 made me drop the cards?
should it have been a call anyway or maybe a bet/fold in the first place?

I probably call the river even though there was a bet and a raise. I don't put any one on a full house, personally. And that leaves just 4 clubs that can beat you.
Sure you still might be behind, but you only have to be right once every 5 times with those odds.
IMO it is worth the call.

hi maciekr
i guess i will mark this one. flop and turn is fine of course.
if you check the river you have to fold to a bet and a raise though.

Hi maciekr,

I think I like bet/call (for 1 more bet) or bet/fold (against 2 bets) the most. You might be called aby a worse flush an ace or a Q. Sure you are ofte beat too but with a check you get bet by a better hand too often as well as some bluffs. Weaker hands that miht call will check behind so you gain a bit more by betting yourself.
Against 1 bet you should call as there is still a chance that raises with a worse hand. Against 2 bets you are way too often behind and the risk of being capped is given too.

As played you have to fold. Sure there are only 4 better :club:s that can beat you but there are not enough worse hands that play this way. A worse flush will probably just call a better maybe as well and QJ is now a fullhouse that has you beat too.

You say there are 4 better clubs that beat him but I count only three - 9 :club:, T :club: and K :club:. Sorry for the lame question but two people in a row said 4 and I'm confused :)
