Played small session on stars to test if PT4 is working and so on. No spesific reads on villain. Could have bet turn also but I think this is fine also.

PokerStars - 80/160 Ante 20 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 2,592 (VPIP: 38.33, PFR: 31.58, 3Bet Preflop: 12.50, Hands: 63)
SB: 1,976 (VPIP: 20.34, PFR: 13.56, 3Bet Preflop: 3.33, Hands: 63)
Hero (BB): 4,432

3 players post ante of 20, BB posts SB 80, Hero posts BB 160

Pre Flop: (pot: 300) Hero has 9♠ J♦

fold, SB calls 80, Hero checks

Flop: (380, 2 players) 9♦ 2♦ 7♠
SB checks, Hero bets 160, SB calls 160

Turn: (700, 2 players) Q♠
SB checks, Hero checks

River: (700, 2 players) 2♥
SB checks, Hero bets 320, SB raises to 1,636 and is all-in, Hero?

Betting turn for thin value and protection is indeed a decent option and on the river I don't expect he would check/shove with worse and even if he's doing that you have a good stack left to abuse the bubble further if you fold.

Well we obviously have only bluff catcher but having 9x after this action is pretty relevant as we do block some hands like Q9, maybe occasional 99. I had been pretty aggro so far.

Plus villain is repping very very thin imo in river. It's unlikely he has Qx, maybe he has rare QQ+. 2x is likely even more rare than those big pockets.

Also very few take line like that with those pockets. To me it just seemed pretty unbelievable line and there is actually lot of busted draws though taking check-call flop line is bit weird with those.

Not sure but just seemed so weird line that I decided to hero call.

River check is standard if betting turn but as played its pretty passive option.

River check seems nitty. I expect you miss sometimes value. There aren't to many better hands that would check twice out of position.
