Hi Everyone,

I'm from the Philippines and I want to create a new blog since my old blog that I created in 2009 has been locked probably due to inactivity. I'm 30yrs old and will be getting married this November! I'm a freelance consultant and I have an online businesses that generates 80% of my income passively, which give me the a lot of free time to spare.

My love in poker reignites when I saw Kevin Heart playing PokerStars Championship Cash Challenge on YouTube then I saw DNegs WSOP 2019 Vlogs. Then I got curious on how my poker idols are doing specially online poker players, sadly most of them are not active anymore. I downloaded Stars and check how much BR I still have and played few tourneys which made me enjoy playing the game again.

I am not aiming to make poker as a career but I want to improve my game and to make extra profit from it. My ultimate dream is to be recognized as one of the best online SnG player in the Philippines.

Since I became a member in 2009 I haven't really care to read the tutorials her. All I know are the hand rankings, positions, bets and the basic push/shove. I only have around 5% of tutorial read. :sorry: but I want to read all the tutorials and improve my game. So far it is working for me.

Since I've started playing online poker, either I lost my free BR from PokerStrategy and other sites dues to poor BRM or I haven't really became a winning player. The last time I was active in online poker was 2012, my biggest win was the $50+ on a $0.55 MicroMillion events at PS. I tried doing all different NLHE format from Cash, SNG, Spin N Gos and MTT but I profit more on single table SnG so I'll be focusing more to that.

Last week I created a new account in PokerStars since my old account does't give me Strategy Points here. I started my bankroll with $20. I haven't receive any points yet, I think Strategy has a technical issue with Stars hopefully they'll fix it soon.

I'll be playing $0.50 SnG with my $20 BR. I'll be more conservative in my BRM before moving limits. My plan is to play games that 1% of my BR and before I move to the next level I should have at least 50BI on top of my 1% and will move down if I only have 50BI. So For me to move to $1.5, I need to have $225 and I'll go back to $0.5 if I went down to $187.5.

As of now I play 4 tables at a time, tried doing 6 but in a long run I wasn't able to focus specially when it comes to late stages so I went back to 4 tables. My problem right now is having a stamina in playing for more than 2hrs. Even if I win or lose in the session I don't have the stamina to play for more than 2hrs. How do you guys do it? ?(?(

Here's my graph since I started playing on my new account last week:

So goals, my goals for 2019:
[*] Turn my $20 to $225
[*] Finish reading all SnG articles here in PS
[*] Finish reading 3 poker books (something about, SnG, Mindset and Math)
[*] Improve my understanding in using HUDs
[*] Reach Gold Status
[*] Able to play 6-8 multi-table
[*] Able to play online poker for 5hrs straight.

Lifetime Goal, I haven't really thought about it yet I'll be add as I go through this journey but on top of my mind are:
[*] Get my bankroll to six digits
[*] To reach Black Member in Poker Strategy
[*] Be the most number of SnG winnings on Online Poker in the Philippines

I know my 2019 goals are a bit conservative, but I want to get there slowly but surely. I tried doing a "$50 to $200 in two months challenge" but that didn't work for me twice. Also I'm getting married in November so probably I won't be able to play poker a lot from October to December. Though now I am confident I can make it this time! I know I have more discipline in my BRM management, proper understanding of variance, better control of emotion and of course better understanding of the game.

Good luck everyone and Good Luck at the Tables.

Thanks and wishing you lots of lucks at the table as well!

Update:

After posting this thread last Saturday evening, I was hesitant to play another game before going to sleep but I decided to play anyways. Played 6x $0.50 STT SnGs and lost 4 of them at 5th place and the 2 of them I manage to get on 3rd and 2nd place. I notice I was a bit loose in raising and shoving some marginal hands when I drop to <10BB end up costing me the game. I'll review my play on this 6 games tomorrow to find my leaks.

Sunday, I don't play online poker on Sundays since Sunday is a family and church day. I am thinking of playing the free ticket for PokerStrategy Double Action from my deposit bonus but it starts at 1AM on Monday in the Philippines and I was tired though the church services that I attended on Sunday so I decided to call it a day.

Monday, it was a long day for me today as well as I always do most of my errands and business stuff for the week on Mondays. I thought of sleeping early after watching DNEG's 2019 WSOP vlog but I decided to play 5 of the 15 remaining free $1 Spin and Go ticket from the deposit as well. I end up playing 6 and I was able to win 3 of the 6 games. Got additional $6 from my BR. Also I notice that I was able to get the free 2x $5 from the deposit bonus so my BR is now at $41.19.

I am still worried if I can use the two free Double Action Tickets but all of the tourney date is on 1AM on Mondays and I have always have a tiring day on Sunday. Hopefully I'll be able to use them before it expire on July 29 and August 4.

For now I'll be lying down in bed and read some pokerstrategy articles.

Graph Update:

PPS.
Any word from PokerStartegy about the PokerStars points? Still don't get Strategy Points from PS.

Just played 5 $0.50 STT SnG and used 4 of 9 free $1 Spin n Go Tickets from my deposit bonus.

I was feeling pumped before I started my session. I told myself, tonight I'll be grinding my ass off, I'll be playing 10++ games of $0.50 STT SNG, but after playing 5 games I called it a day. I don't know what is it with me that I am afraid of losing after having a good run. The moment I feel this feeling it irks me and I feel like it will affect my gameplay. Anyway, I manage to reach the ITM 4 of 5 SnG. 3 of which was 3rd and 1 was 2nd place. The 5th game one was brutal. Probably I think I made a bad play 3betting all-in after the flop but I am leaning towards KK gets lucky with my AA:

You think I've done something else? But I think what ever I play I made I'll get called by the kings.

As for the 4 free SnGs, I manage to win 2 out of 4 and one of which gave me a $4 boost in winnings.

I'll call it a night, just found out Team Online Pro's twitch channels and I enjoyed watching them play. Might as well read some strategy articles tonight and watch some poker streams.

Good luck to all of you at the table

Terrible terrible session, I was planning to play a lot of games today because I am well rested and I have my A-Game on! But during the first few games manage to catch series of bad beats. Need to stop playing because it is affecting my gameplay. Trying not to go on tilt but man, emotions can really get the best of you.

Thank Thiamtan! Where are you from originally? Good luck to you too!

UPDATE

Ok, I'll call it a day. Terrible day. Tried playing 4 games to see if I'm still having a bad beat day and still I am. Haven't given a good playable card until I got blinded out until I only got <10-12BB left but when I do...oh variance.

Dont open new accounts on same site unless previous one has been closed because of inactivity. Which I think they wont do in stars anyway. Creating second account to same place (e.g. stars.eu) will be violation of their ToS (terms of service). That basically means that there is very high chance they will close your new account when its noticed which will likely happen at least when trying to withdraw. Before withdraw they will likely ask identification documentation. At least in theory they have option to confiscate funds on such account afaik. My advice would be to contact pokerstars support and say you didnt know it was not allowed to create new account and ask if they can return your funds from new one or perhaps transfer them to your old one.

If you want to have tracked site on PS your only option is to open account to some other site where you have no account yet. Most of times sites wont allow reconnecting existing account to any affiliate.

Oh wow, that you for pointing that out. I've already sent them an email. Hopefully they would allow to transfer from my old account to my new one.

Ok, PokerStars just answered to my email and they closed my new account. Now I'm left with my original account with the ugly username on it, damn it. I guess I'll just buy status here if I still which to continue in playing in stars. With regards to my goal, I now have $156 in my BR. Should I include it my BR with this challenge and just increase my goal to lets say $350 since I had $110+ in my old account?

I'm still asking them if they could transfer my unopened chest to my old account and the deposit bonuses. Oh damn it. I'll think everything over and have a proper adjustment in my goal.

Hi everyone,

Just giving an update for the poker journey for the month of July.

As my per my last thread my new PokerStars account got closed due to duplicate accounts and all of my money was transferred to my old account. I started with a total of $156 in my BR and now I have $179.70 and 23.70 increase for the month of July.

This month also I shifted my game to Spins instead of SNGs. So far I am loving it. I applied to SpinLegends earlier this month but my application was denied. I also applied to another staking platform but they want me to play 3000 $1 Spins for test run but currently I can't afford to play at $1. So as of this moment I am working my way to 1000 Spins at $0.25 before submitting another application at SpinLegends. As of now I am at my 728th Spin so far my cEV is doing great.

Another positive thing that happen to me is I was able to change my mindset in playing poker. Instead of playing 6-10 SnGs per day and stop when I'm winning or stop early when I am losing, now I am able to play for volume instead of playing for money. Having a red day doesn't affect me that much. As long as I am +cEV I am happy. Mentally playing spins is a lot easier for me as well

Also this month I jumped in and bought my own PokerTracker 4 since I want to see if I am +cEV at the end of my session.

I read in The Mental Game of Poker that about the Process Model: Prepare > Perform > Results > Evaluate > Analyze.

Here's what I do.

Preparation: I make my bed, clean the house, drink coffee, work on my online business, take a bath, watch spins videos and meditate

Perform: I play 2 tables of $0.25 Spin, I tried playing music in the background but I am able to focus more if it's just the sounds of PS that's running. Another thing that help me not tilt is during all-in situation I always expect their outs to come out or if the flop is too complicate I just look of the % of the player and expect them to be at 100%. This helps me prevent from tilting =]

Results: I always check the my tournament numbers, I always stop at 50 games each session I check if I am +EV

Evaluate: I check my cEV graph and study all the spins that I played for the day. I put notes to all players in PT4 that might help me when we play again. I write down what I felt for today when I'm playing.

Analysis: I go and check my PT4 restudy the games I played. I check ICM and stuff.

So that's all for the month of July. I'll be moving stakes once I reached $200 in my BR. Though I asked Nick from OP-Poker and he told me to move up since I have a good cEV/Tourney of 65 when I asked him last week. Though now I am only at 46, hopefully I could turn it up at the end of 1000 spins.

The only problem that I have is it seems that I am at break-even but I am hopeful that I could turn break from this.

Thank you guys for reading, here's my graph for the $0.25 Spins, oh I won a x25 multiplier =D
