Nash says it's a marginal openshove, I didnt really wanna do it but I thought i've got higher folding equity at semifinal table so :f_ugly:

PokerStars - 200/400 Ante 25 NL - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

SB: 5,391
BB: 7,811
UTG: 3,374
MP: 4,465

6 players post ante of 25, SB posts SB 200, BB posts BB 400

Pre Flop: (pot: 750) Hero has 2♥ 2♠

fold, fold, Hero raises to 9,804 and is all-in

Seems decent and I wouldn't be surprised they call to tight as well.

Cheers,

Does it matter much that I'm risking a "chip lead" with shit hand? :f_ugly: (risking/wasting my edge away so to speak)

One more question if that's ok, I've got a 20BB SmallBlind OenPush chipEV Nash here and it tells me that hands like K6o or Q7s are decent shoves.
But is it not more profitable to attempt to steal instead?
Feels weird to risk 20Bigs with thrash like that just to win blinds and antes :f_ugly:

well without spoiling. You should check the ev of raise calling vs shoving.

RaiseCalling with mentioned hands is definetely a no :f_cool:
But what about all of the times we would raise 2.5BB and just steal blinds and antes uncontested?
And all the times times we take it down with let's say Flop CBet bluff?
I know sometimes we'll also bluff then give up, but overall Is that not a "better" play? :f_ugly:

well it is likely to be more plus ev to raise call but you cant find spots where another play is better. You have to play yourself with ranges to get that point.

and before you ask. Its simply because if you raise call there is more money in the pot-related tp your stack. This means you get better odds and different implied odds.

How much +ev shove is in nash? If SB and BU were bit deeper I would open fold or minraise. Now shove can be plausible but as I have said before, avoid thin deep stack open shoves. Your range here should be capped for shoving.

For SB on general those mediocre hands like K6o or Q7s will work nice as open limp. If player is on tight side raising 2.5bb is fine. In general I would not have much open shove range in cEV spot there. Some small pockets can be fine though.

I could be wrong but I think in PokerCalculator's chipEV that represents Big Blinds per hand

well you should use icm. The closer you get to the payouts the worse it is to play cev in a payout structure.

^^ i was about to ask if we weren't supposed to consider ICM at this point. I have so many finishes between 10-12 in these games because I didn't calculate for ICM.

In HRC you can run the hand in a multi table setting that calculates ICM w 11 players left.

I meant about 22 open shove profitability.

Sooo, in a 50c game you’re trying to find the GTO play... Hmm, how to approach this...

If you were playing a 12 player tourney with £5000 entry the logic in this thread is relevant. As this is a 50c game... what the shit turd are you doing jamming 22 when you could play 3% of hands and take 3rd???? Why the hell you all agreeing with this inbred play??? I don’t give two flying ducks if Janda says this is a good line, he don’t play no 50c game.

... Deep breaths...

Mate, this play sucks. Obviously. GTO sucks.

well mate you dont get that if you learn any topic you should learn basic stuff that is easy to apply. shoving deuces is easy and plus ev. Thats all you need to know at these stakes to make money. Its just nice that ghale explained that for you. You can of course apply higher concepts to lower stakes. You want to know why? you earn more money and learn stuff you need anyway later.

Mate... You earn less money applying GTO in lower games. That was my point.

You’re minimising your profit and not learning the basic things you should be learning in these games. You’ll advance a lot faster if you learn everything in the correct order instead of trying to jump straight to the end.

You don’t even have the slightest clue what you are dealing with. I mean, why are you using GTO?

“Because GTO is unbeatable”

Actually, exploitation makes more money and even contains GTO so it’s clearly this style that is unbeatable.

All reasons for humans using GTO are the same. Nonsense. There is no reason to ever use GTO.

You don’t know why you use this strategy, you clearly don’t know how it works, and more importantly you don’t even know the effects of applying it! Nobody understands these effects as well as I do and I can tell you that learning this strategy will not help you in any way. I could go into detail but I’ve already been through this enough times on these threads.

Learn to exploit.
