Equilab - how to transfer ranges to another computer?

Hi,

I was trying to transfer my 'user-defined ranges' from one computer to another.
I saw some posts stating that I should copy the content of "PreflopPredefined.ini" to the new computer, but it didn't work. I actually found out that the ranges are not included in this file.
Moreover, I opened each of the notepad files in the Equilab folder (on the computer with the relevant ranges), trying to find where the ranges are written, but couldn't find it anywhere.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Hi alonshamir,
Welcome to the PokerStrategy.com forums! :welcome:

The instructions here are for Windows 10, and the English version
If you have an earlier version, give them a try, and if the don't work tell us what you find.
Also, these instructions are for the free version of Equilab. If you have Power Equilab, there may be differences.
I don't have Power Equilab, so I can't test them.

First, open File Explorer
The easiest way to do this is to hold down the Windows Key and tap the E key

In the address bar enter:
%localappdata%
Scroll down until you find the Equilab folder. There is also an OmahaEquilab folder if you have that version.
Inside those folders will be a file named:
PreflopUserdefined.ini
you may not see the .ini part depending on your settings. To see them click on "View" on the menu, and click "File Name Extensions"
Copy the file to shared storage a flash drive, google drive or whatever.

All other files in this folder can be ignored.

Next, install Equilab on the new computer.
The folder will be created.

Copy the PreflopUserdefined.ini file to that folder.
All should be well.

Next find the folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PokerStrategy.com\PokerStrategy.com Equilab
To get access to this folder, you will need to have administrator rights on your computer, and you will need to enable hidden files.
To do that go to the view menu again, and put a checkmark beside "Hidden Items"
Once ther you will find the following files:
PreflopShortcuts.ini
EquityTrainer.ini
HandRankings.ini
HandRankings.ini.bak
HandStrength.ini
PreflopPredefined.ini

They are installed with the program, and although they can be edited, I've never found a reason to do so.
If these files are not there, uninstall Equilab and re-install from a freshly downloaded install file.

Hope that helps!
