This smelled like a flush or a full house during the hand, but I can't think of a lot of hands there that also do not bet the flop. Is the fold too tight?

Because of the pot odds your being laid I would call, you don’t need to win too often, and if he has a straight it’s played odd since he would have flopped it. Your blocking some of his T’s for the straight and some of his full houses. You also have a good spade in your hand that blocks some of his good suited spade hands ,
