stnd bet/call flop i like more. And you are right assuming that it´s stnd against anybody, but that´s a reason to not post it on forum, isn´t it :-)

Let me start with few questions:

1) how do you calculate your 3b sizing? (no offense, just curious)

2) what makes you open shove the flop?

3) how do you balance your value shoving range on the flop?

4) why don't you make it smaller on the flop? So that you can include much more bluffs into your flop betting range...

5) there is no "std" play in poker. Actually, it is the opposite that give us the edge. Non"standard" lines give us edge, non standard lines make opponents think, non standard lines make them spew...

-------------

@Kriegphilosopher: I disagree with you, as it is anybody's free will to ask whatever the person wants, and secondly - if somebody thinks that the move is "standard" and he is making a mistake there, it is good to ask. Because as I mentioned above - there is no standard move hehe. And that is why I will minraise 72o shallow vs some opponents and limp AA full stacked (which means 25bb in my game type)

open mind is v important :truestory:

Oh man, seriously... have I been restricting anybody on freedom to ask or do anything? I believe I´ve not. Take it ez.

When I say the best play is standart play in the spot, what does it mean? in 3bet pot with initiative oop on such a low board peoples action is what? Cbet. Here you got my simplified definition of the word -> standart = most frequent. Did I say that standart play is always best +EV play? No. Did I leave no room for colegue Maniac to ask "What do you exactly mean by standart?" No. Did I misbehave in any other way? I don´t think so

Your ideas about what makes money in relation to what´s standart or nonstandart is not any less vague than my suggestion to play "stnd" non AI bet in that spot above.

I´d normally overlook your contradictory point 5), where you say there is no "Stnd" play in poker meanwhile you claim the opposide is gives us edge... but you give me no other choice as I don´t consider ignoration... Imo there must exist something like stnd in order for its opposite to exist as well; but ok... let´s jump to your reasoning for always prefering Nonstandart actions.

You make quiet general statement about people spewing because Nonstnd play makes them think.... I´d argue that many recreational do not actually think. They just play their two cards with board and that´s why they play fit/fold a lot and when they hit f.e. TP, they are unable to fold, i.e. they are calling stations and so on. Against such a players Stnd play is best! You have value? Bet bet bet! You have nothing and board is JT9? Check/fold! You have nothing and board is A99r? Bet F, x/fold turn! All stnd play giving greatest edge imo.

Another counterreason might be that "Stnd" line can be balanced. Here we come to strategy against regs. I´d assume You alone also suggest this implicitly in your advisory point 4. Why would we want to balance our range? Because our reggish opponents have harder time decide whether they are good enough or wheter we are bad enough when it comes to example of calling down, and that leads to mistakes giving us edge, right? Also when it comes to reggs, there are spots (often OTR) where we have no longer any bluffs, and our opponent knows that, what do we do? Nonstandart check?

So far it was generalized, but let´s have a look back at the hand above. 3bet oop with initiative having value hand. What is the most +EV play is the question. Is it nonstandart check readless, giving away free equity? Is it potbet shove forcing our opponent to call with actuall hand? Or is it a move that we can use for cheap bluffs and for value, therefore most frequently played and expected CBET? Cbet, that extracts lots of value from draws, bluffraises, Ahigh floats, Overcards/backdoor draw floats? All of this would otherwise fold against shove and/or most likely check back and realize the equity! And what has happened? Best +EV play, or greatest edge giving if you will, happend to be the "standart" play.

Man, there is nothing wrong about playing standart moves when it´s actually most +EV move. And yeeees, there are spots very nice spots for Nonstandart move, expecialy in HU that you play, but that´s nothing against us here playing stand moves...

Lastly I´d yet point out, that your 72o IP raise "against some opponents" as you say, might be very very standart! Does villain have 50% VPIP? Hell yeah man your 32o raise is SUPER STANDART! Or is your AA limp against agro opponent Nonstandart? Naah man, that´s very very normal in HU HT
