Hello everyone, My name is Roo and I’ve been playing the 25 cent spin & go flash games at PokerStars.
If you haven’t played them, they are 3 handed hyper fast, short stacked games that have a high rake (8%) and you only have a million to one chance of winning the jackpot.
I know they don’t sound that appealing when I describe them lol :f_biggrin:
I’m playing them on my iPad as I like the freedom of movement but this brings the sacrifice of not having a HUD or any real stats to follow so I’ve been recording the results myself and making my own graphs. I don’t think this will suffice if I move up levels but for now I’m enjoying the freedom of playing poker and using the toilet instead of filling piss bottles like you static players. 😂

I’m starting with a 100 buyin (It’s actually $16.50 it’s what was left in my account at stars lol) bankroll and I’m currently willing to invest around $500 if I can show a consistent profit at the 25 cent level.
One of my biggest worries about this game has been the risk of high variance so I have tried to keep my ranges within a margin that I hope will help alleviate the big swings and hopefully allow me to profit from any bigger spikes that I can achieve through a longer range investment. 😊
I’m not sure how much volume I will achieve as I have quite a few projects on at home at the moment but I’ll try and leave a gap of at least 100 games between graphs.

Just over 300 games 👍 I’ve scaled the games played to x10 as I think the other graph flattens my Bankroll and ROI lines. I’m feeling fairly confident. 😊

Profit = $8

What tool are you using to create the graph?
On some, like Google Sheets or Open Office, you can make a series use the right-hand axis, so have two different scales.

Whenever I read the title of your blog, my brain registers "fish ladder" instead of "flash ladder"
There is quite a famous one on the Fraser river about 200km from where I live

It’s kind of a bit like a fish ladder really 😂
I’m still grinding away, I’ve given up with the graphs lol 😂
I’m still playing well and finding the .25 cent games very soft and beatable without the big multipliers.
Bankroll $36 😊
Profit $19.50 (including RB/rewards)
I’ve started playing a few of the $1 flash spin and gos and I’m just starting to get a feel for them. I started playing them when my roll hit $25 as I know now I can beat the .25 cent games I’ve just been using my profit over the $25 to play the $1 games. I genuinely think 100 buyins is good bankroll management for these games but I’m happy to just roll off my .25 cent game profit for now and if it looks good and I feel confident I’ll add some more funds if I need them to boost levels.

I’m at bronze status and it currently costs 1250 points to open a PokerStars rewards chest. I have to say the contents are very disappointing, let’s hope they get better as I move up levels. I also received some mysterious black chest with next to nothing in it, not sure why I got that one lol 😂
It costs $156 dollars to clear a chest and here is the reward....72 cents 😂 Link Text...

Just won another random chest with a free $2 sports bet.
Does anybody have a decent tip. I’m happy to split the winnings.
Post your tip and if there is more than one entry I’ll select the tip using some sort of random number generator 😊

*All entries before 20th May

I've never got a sports bet in a Stars chest.

BTW, if you go to your image linked above, right-click on the picture and choose "copy image location" then in a forum post, click the image icon on the toolbar and paste that location into the popup, your image will appear in your post.

You should be able to do that even on mobile -- though I haven't tested it/

Bankroll $56 😊
I’ve started playing a few of the $2 flash spins. If my bankroll goes under $50 I’ll switch back down to the $1 games and .25 cents if it drops below $25, Yesterday I managed to get my roll up to $52 and then swung right back down to $28 and then back up again to where it is now.
Managed to collect another chest this time for $1.60 😂

Yes, variance is quite insane in these games! But they are beatable at every level, if you know how to!

Good luck :)

Yeah I’ve noticed it’s easy to drop 10 or 20 buyins especially if you are not getting many high multipliers and the cards are being cruel and cold 😂
I’ve been really unlucky with higher multipliers so far and have mainly crawled up with lower multipliers which has been hard but I think it’s helping me to feel more confident overall about my game. Was absolutely gutted when I missed $240 multiplier I was effing & jeffing 😂🤣😂
Do you have a blog or thread running ?

Had a real crappy downswing to $25 🙁 Its a swingy game and I am ok with this as I’m expecting more than a 25 buy in downswing along the way but the last chest I opened had .22 cents in it and it cost me $156 to open. PokerStars receive $12.48 per chest and have only given me 22 cents. I feel insulted if I’m honest and I’m going to move to another site.
Also I can’t even take notes playing on my iPad yet PokerStars has just added some crappy emoji that is not only pointless it’s also meaningless when a note taking facility would surely have been a more worthwhile cause and anyone playing on a desktop can take notes and I feel this is an unfair advantage. ( I haven’t even mentioned a HUD! )
Not sure which site I’m going to play on yet but it definitely won’t be PokerStars.
On a good note my $500 initial bankroll is intact and hopefully there is some good sign up bonus’s about. 😊

Partypoker poker might be good, they have ultra spin (flash) and a good rakeback system. The only drawback is that's generally more reggish than pokerstar but I guess below 10$ it should be the same

I agree about the emoji -- I use 'em from time to time, and maybe they might be useful to tag players with emoji instead of colours.

Be sure to let PokerStars know why you're leaving.
In the olden days, you could make a living mining rakeback, even if you were just a break-even player, but no more.

You might check out GGPoker or Natural8
Both have spin-type games, but if you find emoji tilting, those two use them a lot.
They are actually useful there, though, since there are so many different languages among the players.

Cheers,
VS

Ah thanks VorP I’ve been looking at gg poker 👍
I think I will email stars I know it probably won’t make much difference but if they could just add even a note taking facility it would at least help for a rec player like my self to feel that I’m not at a disadvantage to other players which is actually the case when you play on iPhone or iPad at stars.
I’m not really that bothered about rakeback but if they are going to offer rewards for play at least make them consistent. I was grinding over $150 per day which isn’t much for pro grinders I know but to only receive a .22 cent prize really annoyed me. Without rec players like myself who are willing to throw a few pennies into the pot PokerStars is going to lose long term and it’s a shame because poker and it’s variants are great fun to play when I get home from work but I’m not going to give my money away if I don’t feel I have a fair chance.
