I'm a fan of the new rewards system i think it's definitely an upgrade on the previous table.

I've only just started playing on gg poker so can't comment on the old system, and also am not commenting on the value here even, but I like the gamification element very impressive :f_thumbsup:

they are truly genius: now you have to grind double the amount when it comes to crab++ because they know the best case for them is if a player doesnt reach a limit in given time resulting in 10% cashback, which means 1% if you manage to achieve PVI 0.1

then you switch to black status, not only getting again less but hey, it was your own choice so you can not blame them :f_grin: they really know how to make players grind like a true grinder without giving cashback for hard work and effort. imagine you grind your way up to bronze octopus and you dont make this status, you switch to black fish and get 2%, if you dont you get 1% instead of this fucking 3% rakeback which will be hard deserved.

gready fucks

e: sorry VorpalF2F but I had to use appropriate language that nails the problem down perfectly :P

I just play there for fun when I've not got much else to do.
I don't think that at lower levels it will make any difference.

In fact, the bottom level is pretty much the same, the next level up is a little worse now, and at the third level it is much the same again.

Is this in effect now?
If now, when does it start?

Wouldn't black fish be a minimum of 11% ? 50% of the 20% is contributed and the other 50% worked out on pvi index and black octopus would be a minimum of 18.5% and so on.It's about as clear as mud when it comes to pvi index but a lot of sites are switching to it for obvious reaosns.

Where did you find information on that 50% PVI effect?

could you name at least 2-3 of them pls?

i think you do not get how PVI is affecting the RB. lemme clear it for u by an easy sample:

you wanna hit octopus so you contribute 150$ and because they set your PVI set to 0.4 (ofc noone outside them knows how they determine one's PVI) then they count 60$ (150x0.4) to your 15000 Octopus spin. so you have to rake 375 (375x0.4=150 -> 15000 point) to spin the wheel.
if you spin 15$ you got (15/375) 4% real RB
if you spin 90% -> (15/375) 24% real RB

edit: above shit works with the old FB

I remember reading about it a few years back when lot's of the ipoker skins were switching to a source based rake system or rpv (real player value. The system GG are using is a contributed/pvi system which for all intense and purposes looks the same as source based rake/rpv maybe it's not.I had a search about an found an old article talking about the rake structure so maybe you'll be able to say whether or not it's the same or how it differs.

This is the system i was referring to although it seems the information i had is outdated somewhat.

there were several changes at ggpoker rake system, i remember it was like PVImin 0.3 and they counted gross rake and discounted all bonuses like fish buffet, jackpots and even deposit bonus :f_grin:

65% PVI rakeback was offered by affiliates when someone registered through their affil link on some ipoker sites. the actual ipoker skins never used PVI based vip system/RB offer (AFAIK). my guess is this pic is from an affil site :)

edit:
worth to mention in my case my affi agent told before opening account that it will be about 30-35% real RB and going further i could easily check it cos i had HHs showing the rake i payed. and yep it was in that range according to my HM2 ;)

so both method is called PVI but they are far from each other in clearness/shadiness.

Thanks for clearing it up a bit the information i used was quite old you'll have to forgive me for that as its been a while since i played online so was just going from what i knew then. And ye that's from an affiliate site i didnt want to put their name in the image i just remember lots of sites being advertised back then as switching to pvi system and GG appeared to me to be using that system.

The funny thing is that GG could actually challenge Stars to some degree, if they would like to. Just state that they have been non-transparent in the past, and change it. Make clear rules, make clear rakeback system and stop scamming money with superhigh -EV insurance etc.

For some reason, they choose not to.

Perhaps they don't see any need...
Assuming you can believe the numbers presented, they have triple the number of players online that PokerStars does.

Well the time suits Asian players and there is wsop going on. And probably their reason is that they chose a different path.

And as long as their decisions doesn't seem to bother the customers, why would they change those to less profitable ones?

The new fish buffet landed in my client.
I now need 3 times the points to get past the first level -- and in the same time.

In other words, it makes no difference whatsoever, since I rarely made it past the first level under the old system.
I'm certainly not going to increase my volume for the off chance of "winning" 10 cents or whatever

Ok so i wouldn't be able to achieve 12k points for the wheel in 15 days for the volume i play at 10nl so i decided to try black fish for the guaranteed 20% cash back.I streamed 4 reg tables for 2 hours and collected 137 points and i need 500 points for $1 cashback.Which means i'm going to average $1 cashback for every 7 hours 4 tabling 10nl.Now i don't know how PVI cashback compares to contributed rakeback but that clearly isn't 20% cashback under any stretch of the imagination is it ?.If it is what is it 20% of because it isn't 20% of my generated rake ,this system just leaves me very puzzled.

PVI affects both vip system. You will never get anything nearly close they are advertising!!!

This is what ppl trying to explain to those who are not aware of it. But they keep believing the site insted of their eyes and the money they get after their rake generated. Some delusionals still thinking this site takes a little more rake but giving back a lot.

You do not need to be a crusher to get a 0.3 PVI which means if you reach the 20% "flat rakeback" it is 20x0.3=6%

I bet you get something aruond that!
(speaking of cash games)

if you crush your games it will be down to 2%, not 20%. you guys should realize you need to look at it like a 10th of rb then you can focus on beating your stakes with 15++ bb/100 winrate to make some money

interesting, seems like you just need to play enough to get cut. but remember since this year PVI can be as low as 0.1!

new fish buffet structure is a deflection
