I decided to not 3bet this for pot control. How do you think I should had played this?

Against a unknown I would just fold pre-flop against a random UTG player.
I expect has a tight range and without position it will be tough to win the hand if you miss the flop. That will happen more often than not.
As played I would bet the turn for value and protection as well, but on river I would most likely just check/fold with 4 cards of the straight on this board. I don't think a random villain will bluff enough on NL5 to make a call profitable.
