Hello,

Can you please check and advise if you think the hand was played correctly? Perhaps, I should have just check-called it all the way and should not have done the donk bet OTT?

PokerStars, $1.32 + $0.18 - Hold'em No Limit - 100/200 (25 ante) - 2 players
Hand delivered by Upswing Poker

SB: 7,050 (35 bb)
BB (Hero): 6,450 (32 bb)

SB raises to 400, Hero calls 200

Flop: (850) K J T (2 players)

Turn: (1,300) 5 (2 players)
Hero bets 500, SB raises to 1,250, Hero calls 750

HU perhaps raise the flop
As played, I would fold to the turn raise.
There is a lot of time left to find a better spot.

Check/call flop and turn would be the standard play with top pair no kicker. You can't raise for value and you beat only a bluff. Especially out of position you want to keep the pot smaller. Now you need to fold the turn.

This flop is really good for villains uncapped range so as default I would not have any x-r range. Turn donk on 5 doesnt make any sense. How does this 5 help your range considerably? Some turns to have donk range would be e.g. J, T, A and 9 type ones. Q is not good as villain has Ax advantage.
