Hello,

Could you please advise if I was suppose to 3bet shove here?

PokerStars, $1.78 + $0.22 - Hold'em No Limit - 80/160 (20 ante) - 5 players
Hand delivered by Upswing Poker

UTG: 1,556 (10 bb)
CO: 2,622 (16 bb)
BU: 3,744 (23 bb)
SB (Hero): 3,045 (19 bb)
BB: 2,533 (16 bb)

Pre-Flop: (340) Hero is SB with 9 9
2 players fold, BTN raises to 320, Hero calls 240, BB 3-bets to 2,513 (all-in), BTN calls 2,193, SB (Hero) folds

Hello I am not an expert but yeah, 99 is strong to over shove here.

As played I would fold as well.

Let us see what the coach would say

Yup as default I would shove any pocket pair in this spot. Its also spot where we should be pretty careful about having calling range. Not totally absurd but there are multiple bad sides in calling.

Standard play would be the 3bet shove. It's interesting to know why you just called 99 against a BTN open. Now you get in a tricky spot against 2 all-ins and you lost the minimum this time, but even now you could be ahead sometimes.

Cheers,
