Hi all, I've been around poker for a couple years now but never took it as seriously as the previous months. I've been grinding NL2 on GG a lot while reading micro stakes books to help me get better. I feel like I got better overtime, but my results say otherwise. I am lost. Nothing works and I keep loosing at NL2. I was +40$ after 30k hands but since I've played 15k+ hands, I am down to -10$. I've lost all my progress and more. I don't know what to do anymore.

Here's a couple of thoughts:
Don't put much stock in poker theory at microstakes — and especially at GGPoker. Try to pay attention to what the other players do. Play tight.
Poker is a long-term game. If you put your money down when the odds are in your favour,[1] eventually you will be in profit
Variance is a bitch. Check out this site — play with the numbers a bit. When the page first opens you see 20 different runs of 100,000 hands each. Note the difference between the best and worst runs.

Every time you click "calculate" it runs again.
Sometimes the "worst" line starts out in profit.

I'm currently reading "Poker Brat" — Phil Hellmuth's autobiography.
You won't learn much about playing poker from it, but get a real insight into Hellmuth as a person
