GG Poker - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 192.56 BB
Hero (SB): 102.52 BB
BB: 162.28 BB
UTG: 106.36 BB
MP: 242.84 BB
CO: 100 BB

Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has T♠ T♦

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, BB raises to 9 BB, Hero calls 6 BB

Flop: (18 BB, 2 players) J♥ 9♦ 5♦
Hero checks, BB checks

Turn: (18 BB, 2 players) T♣
Hero checks, BB bets 13.52 BB, Hero calls 13.52 BB

River: (45.04 BB, 2 players) 6♥
Hero checks, BB bets 139.76 BB and is all-in, Hero ? ?

The villain is pretty aggressive.

We could 4bet pre but here I chose to flat, and before the hand even began I was in calling mode because that's like a plan vs this archetype of opponents.

However, it does get pretty rough along the way.

Thoughts?

Flatting TT is not that bad vs aggro opponent. It's preferable option to me. Yeah you wont like a lot of flops. But you could extract value out of his bluffs for a street or two or even three. With 4bet you chase all of his bluffs. If he is aggressive enough you could start flating QQ+ AK. This will keep your range uncapped as well

As played i like it. Bet OTT is fine. You have a big hand you want to start building a pot. Check OTR for induce and check/raise is also fine. I am gonna snap call OTR

What if the turn was a 2? Would you still call V down?

I know I'm supposed to call down but during hand I knew like 90% that I was beat on this river. It's just the way the betting went that tells me that this is a luck box poker hand. We don't block any of the 16 combos of KQ. Should I have trusted my read? lol

BB shows 7♥ 8♣ (Straight, Jack High)
(Pre 16%, Flop 23%, Turn 77%)
Hero shows T♠ T♦ (Three of a Kind, Tens)
(Pre 84%, Flop 77%, Turn 23%)
BB wins 200.56 BB

Okay, 87o, that one too. I guess.

Always

Knowing that the opponent would hit his gutshot OTR this is a clear fold.
But seriously, folks, since BB 3Bet 87o you can't be faulted for misreading the hand.
Since KQ is a very likely part of a BB range, getting out on the turn is no sin โ€” but neither is calling.

Yes you do if you are correct most of the time.

But in this spot this is a nasty cooler. You are on the top of your range. If you fold hand like this then what are you calling with?

Well, sure, at the same time, cooler is just a cooler and everyone pays.
