I thought this was like a really loose player but his cards proved me wrong.

If he is on the looser side then just call OTF in position.

I thought this was like a really loose player but his cards proved me wrong.

Even the looser players will hit strong hands. The fact that he turn over premium hand doesnt mean that he isnt loose

I shouldn't stray from GTO even if I think I have a pretty good read. Oh well.

I would fold pre or 4bet.
As for postflop - its ALWAYS call or fold. You should not use merged range to raise against polarized bet.
