Afternoon,

First post so apologies if its a bit rough.

I am a very low level NLH tournament player getting back to playing after 10 years or so. Still at a very basic level but wondered what is a good/average percentage rate to cash in tournaments? Such as if cashing in 10% of tourney's played a good number. I am not referring to profitability at this stage.

Just interested to see what people think as good, standard, below par.

Since De3cember when I started I have cashed in 75 out of 605 tournaments on GG (all ranging from $1 to $5.50 tournaments) - most of these are bounty hunter tournaments also.

Interested to know your thoughts guys

Hi WackiestPanda,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com forums! :welcome:

That looks like a decent ITM percentage — although I must admit I don't know what the scale is.
Too much depends on where you cash — if you min-cash 75 out of 605 tournaments, you're likely not making money.
OTOH, even one or two final tables in there will make a huge difference.

Thanks for the welcome.

Without looking at stats, there has been 3 final tables, which make up approx 60% of the winnings. As they are low stakes and rebuys the fields are usually in the thousands, so as you say its often not too profitable. The difficulty I am finding is playing through the field when you are down to the last hundred or so to get to final table.

The goal is to move up the stakes when the time and balance is right.

GGPoker:
38% ITM; 75% avROI; 40% totalROI; 500 games.

Pokerstars (scheduled MTTs only):
26% ITM, 111% avROI; 75% totalROI; 700 games

Here is my secret:
