Hi washburnwolf,
Welcome to PokerStrategy.com :welcome:

At NL5 playing this is isn't "wrong", but if a player calls two streets, they usually have something.
There are things you could have done differently, but would they have affected the outcome of this particular hand? Not likely.
Slowing down on the turn likely means you lose less in the long run. Would you fold if CO shoves the river?
Slowing down though, means that you leave money on the table more often than you save money.

Next thought: When you shove the river, what worse will call? What better will fold? You always need to have answers to those questions before making a bet — especially a river bet.

The real Hold'em experts likely have other ideas...

Cheers,
VS

Is a particler reason you not playing with a full stack of 100bb?
If I have reads villain is on the passive side I would bet flop bigger like 7bb and try to get it in on the river with a less than pot size bet behind. It's this time unlucky villain hits trips on the river, but I wouldn't be surprised villain would call with a hand like AQ, KQ and QJ as well.

Cheers,

45 get there on turn
7x has a trips on the river
with KK you block KQ possibilities
88-JJ won't call your river all in

FLOP: I would bet a 35% flop - super dry. You can even bet almost 100% of your range here. If you do, it cannot be over 50% of the pot
TURN: 60-75% of the pot - all the floats have now many draws, this is also a time to build the pot
RIVER: B/F in my opinion. You won't find bluffs with missed draws on the river in this spot. Even if you do, it will be a rare case

Thanks for all the answers.

@VorpalF2F - I hear you. Probably should've bet stronger on flop and turn.
@SDK1987 - I'd already lost some blinds before this hand. Yeah, I'll bet bigger next time. Probably a good way to also protect my hand from coming streets, right?
@MuskTfujWruk - I interpert your answer as I should've betted stronger on both flop and turn, right? I'll keep that in mind for first time. I'm always trying to set traps and end up losing on the river. Maybe not such a good idea for a beginner.

No. What I meant is that you shouldn't bet strong on this board on the flop. On this and similar boards you can bet almost all your range that you raised preflop = with a very high frequency. So not trong, but often. However, when you bet almost 100% of your opening range, you cannot bet much. Remember that your goal is to be called by worse hands. You block Q by having KQ. There are not many hands that can call 70% bet. You want to be called by all Ax and Kx with backdoor fd. You want to be called by 9T with backdoors etc. You don't need a lot of protection on this board. Betting more than 50% pot here is not optimal in my opinion.

Turn bet sizing is good as you want to build a pot and few draws appeared too.

Regarding the river. Even if you bet 1/3 pot and yoiu got raised all in, do you think that someone would do it with QJ? No way. What worse hands you beat when you call all in? Only missed draws. I don't see many of them there. People also don't bluff enough on the river to make the call profitable imo

You can also use the automatic reload option. Than you have always a 100bb stack. It's off course villain depended what my sizing will be. Passive players calling bigger bets as well and if you play against a reg it's better to bet smaller for value on a dry board.

You can try to overbet turn for value, something between 25-30BB. Defintely for value, not protection. Most of the times he has Qx and he never folds, expecially those guys who don't fold a single 7. You make more profit this way, also you pressure the weaker hands to push all his chips, like Qx or hand like 65.
The board is amazing for overbet, not coordinated and villain suppose to have a range he likely not folding. Also the turn card is a diamond, so when you overbet some players might think you pick up a diamond draw. So enough reasons to consider an overbet turn.
