Over what amount is rake calculated?

I have a couple of questions about the rake at GGPoker.

I play NL10 and according their website the rake is 5%

Question 1:

If there is a $1 pot at the flop and player1 bets $1, player2 raises to $3 and player1 folds.
Is the rake 5% of the $1?
Or is it 5% of $3?

Question 2:

The rake cap is dependent of the amount of players in the hand.
Is this the amount of players at the showdown?
Or will the players who folded at a flop bet still be counted?

Question 3:

When 3-betting preflop and everybody folds, you also pay rake.
So if the MP bets $0,20, the CO 3-bets to $0.60 and everybody folds, about what the rake is calculated?

If you download the hand histories from some cash games, it should be possible to figure this out.
However I don't play cash games on GG, so I wouldn't be able to do that.

Q1: rake is taken over the amount matched, in your example the rake should be taken on $3 ($1 in the pot, $1 bet and $1 of the raise, with the other 2 being unmatched)

Q2: it is the amount of players being dealt into the hand.

Q3: It should be 5% of ($0.20+$0.20 + small blind + big blind)

It also appears that rake is collected from 3Bet pots pre-flop, even if no flop is seen.
This comes from a reddit post — I haven't been able to verify it

Yes indeed that's Question 3

I think that GGPoker is the only online poker room that does that

Hi Solar, rake is always taken preflop as well at GG, also from 2bet pots. That's why it's so much rake. I am not sure about pots at lower limits where 5% is less than $0.01, because they can't take less then 1 cent right.

After I posted this, I realized you were talking about MTTs, not cash games.

I suggest you look carefully at the filters so that you're certain that both PT4 and Pokercraft are looking at the same MTTs

I think you mixed 2 threads Vorpal? This was meant for me I think, in the other thread?

If so, I didn't have any filters on.
