i've now tryed a few times to register a friend with a valid e-mail address but the registration process doesn't work properly.

Just to see that i understood you correct:
You made the registration process for a friend. With your friends email address ???
An e-mail address nobody else used yet here at PokerStrategy???
Because i run some tests and everything was fine.
So could you do me a favor and write a ticket to our support team, they have more technical options to help you.
