Hello,
Thank you for contacting us about this feature.
In a tournament, it has become tradition to have all players turn up their
cards when no more action is possible, and one is all-in. Mostly this came
about from the World Series of Poker and other televised shows, but it is
also because all players at the table have a financial interest in the
outcome. It also increases the drama, and adds excitement to tournament play.
In a ring game, however, poker tradition says that the last aggressor shows
first, and the showdown proceeds clockwise around the table. A player does
not have to leave the game if he loses an all-in confrontation in a ring
game, since he can just buy more chips.
There is far less urgency in a ring game all-in and therefore far less
drama. There is no need to create extra drama (for the cameras) in a ring
game, and therefore the player's right to muck their losing hand unshown is
preserved in such games.
Having said all of this, in response to player feedback we have implemented
a new feature to allow players to show their hole cards during ring game
all-ins if they wish to do so. This new feature has been automatically
enabled for all players. To ensure it has been enabled, please go to
‘Options’ in the main lobby and make sure ‘Show Hole Cards When All-In (Ring
Games)’ is checked.
When this feature is selected, if all players participating in the all-in
have this feature enabled - the system will automatically show both yours
and your opponents' hole cards face up.
If one or more of your opponents does not have this option selected, they
will not be able to automatically see your hole cards and they will also
have the option to muck their hole cards on showdown.
I trust this has answered your question completely. Please feel free to let
us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Regards,
