1) He donks into me and then 3-bets my raise. With the paired board im a bit scared him having a 5. Did i play this hand weak or is it ok?

1) i think i would raise the turn anyway

2) raise the turn and call down to a 3-bet. you can beat hands like KQ, QT or AQ and you have some outs against QJ or other two pairs.
but i´m not sure here. ugly board.

3) i wouldn´t bet the river. you can beat 5x or 6x but i don´t think those hands would call.

4) i like it. he wakes up when the K falls so i don´t think he has a set or something so you should be way ahead :)

5) if he is a reasonable player i don´t think that you should cap it. with your river raise you tell him that you have a king and i don´t think he will 3-bet with AA or something.
when he 3-bets the river you are beaten most of the time. but you would have to call for sure :)

imho ;)

1) Raise turn and calldown to a 3-bet then right?

yes but a 3-bet would really really suck

1) Raise turn should be ok. I think he would only call a 5 instead of 3-betting it.

2) exactly

3) Bet river for value and fold to a raise.

4) nh

5) wow I'm not sure if you should raise here on the river. A cap would be way overplayed. The only reasonable hand you beat is AA, you split with KQ if he is a bit too aggressive and loose vs AK.

After discussing a bit with Ulek the raise should be ok because after all the action we should be around 60% vs 40% on the long run.

If he 3-bets its getting very ugly but we should call because if he only 3-bet with AA 1 out of 17 times here we are break even.

3) hm, which worse hands do you expect to call ?

5 and 6 even Ace high ;) Don't rate them as good... they call the flop and check turn and river = bad players *g*

i would send a pm but...

Could be that he is a bit busy atm with all the news stuff etc... I saw him posting today.. maybe sent the email again. Did you agree or declined his offer? ;)

Could you expand on this a bit? How do you determine such a percentage?

At the flop he could have AA, AK, KK, QQ, JJ, TT(?), AQ, AJ(?), and probably more? But with how many would he 3-bet the turn? Or are things just more aggressive at this limit? Hmm, with AQ or AJ he also has a gutshot, so the 3-bet could be semi-bluff?

After his turn 3bet, if he is reasonable, he either has AK or AA. On the river there is only 1 King left he could have, combined with any of the 4 remaining Aces, so
he could have 4 different combis of AK.
With all 4 Aces still possible for him he has 6 combis ( :spade: , :spade: :diamond:, :spade: :club:, :diamond:, :club:, :diamond: :club:) of AA.

So you should be ahead 60% of the time. To raise the river, you usually need more than 50%, depending on how likely it is that villain will raise with a better hand (If he alway calls with a worse hand and always raises with a better hand your raise tries to gain 1 bet (villain calls) by risking 2 bets(villain 3bets, you call), so you need to be ahead >66%).
But in this case he might not alway raise with AK, because he has to fear a fullhouse after our flop and riverraise. So 60% should be enough.

Theres also the slight possibility of an aggressive opponent 3betting the turn with A :diamond:Q :diamond: or A :diamond:J :diamond:,which makes our riverraise less dangerous for us, as he wont 3bet the river with these.

Ok, I understand now. Thanks Ulek.

THx Ulek, I mark it as done :)
