If i raise with something like AK AQ etc and get a caller but dont hit anything on the flop, should i still bet and if i do and it gets called what then? Do i keep betting?

i continuation bet around 3/4 of the pot but only if there was one caller. more than one i slow right down. if they call then most of the time i will only check the turn (unless i hit or have a good read on the player). if they 3-bet my conti bet then its time to fold.
