I limp 99 for set value and when i got rased i call for good odds. I know that my odds was reduced by my position, but still on this limits i think its +EV. When flop comes i check and to wait for his continuation bet and than i decided that i will present that i hit the set so i reraised him and expect to be pushed (in that case i planed just fold) or folded. Instead of that he only calls. That really looks like to me like AK or AQ with one club or monster against which i am crushed. On the turn i just push to defend my hand agains one club draws and overcards ..

When i played that hand i had really bad fealing about that. It was such a weard spot. I planed to play no set no bet, on on flop like this? Shouldnt i risk too much?

you actually dont have the correct implied odds to play for set value pre flop after his raise. you have only 12x his raise in your stack after your call. the rule is call 15- call 20. which means you have the correct implied odds to call for set value if you have 15 to 20 times the raise in both your stacks.

so i would fold pre flop. (this is why lvl 50 is very hard to play pairs for set value because if you limp you often get raised and then have no implied odds to call the raiser)

i think folding the flop or playing it as you did depends on reads. against a loose fish i would play it the same as you. not sure what i would do against a tight player. its tough.

better to just save yourself the pain and fold pre after the raise.

Hi all,

EIther fold or raise preflop. I would personally raise from this position 8-handed and openfold 9+handed. As played check/raising the flop (+ shoving the turn) is fine.
