[Closed] QQ flopped set

I'm no expert in tounaments but I'd play that aggresively against a loose player and I'd check against an aggresive player or a maniac. Giving him one free card can't be that bad as he has a gut shot str8 draq at most so he only has 4 outs to beat you. A check might work, especially if he catches an A on the turn but most ofter I'd bet here, as you are the aggresor preflop and he is expecting you to C-bet. It would look strange if you wouldn't.

Of course. Its weird when you missed your cbet on this board so you need to bet. Not too big but not too small, 1/2 pot would be ok. I dont like your betsizing preflop. Why you bet 2k? You want to finish the action preflop with your huge hand? 2,5bbs would be ok, so bet 1,2k-1,25k preflop.

What? I thought 4bb is standard raise. But I'm a FL player and play tournaments quite rarely, so perhaps you could explain me why should I bet less than the standard amount.

Because the blinds have gone up, so everyones relative stack size to the blinds has decreased. The average at the table is like yours (24BB) and so asking them to commit 1/6 stack preflop - you wil not very often get as many calls as if you were to make it 2.5x.

And you don't want to finish it preflop, you want calls ♠_biggrin:

2-2,5BB max is standard open raise at this level of MTT u got to balance ur steals and ur good hands.
if u steal with 4bb open raise at that level is very expensive

since its a $2,20 tournament I think you could check the flop and hope for something like an A or a K showing up.

1) there are a lot of players on that limit who give up a hand if they couldn't get it preflop. Also your preflop raise says: I have something but I wanna end this asap. If he is a good player he might assume that you gave up and might try to get the pot. Your call would definitely be suspicious though.

2) If the opponent is a bad player, it doesnt really matter whether you miss the c-bet or not. If he hits on the turn (or has already been hit) you will be able to get money out of him even with a missed cbet since he probably only sees his cards and nothing more :P.

Imo, being OOP I don't like to miss c-bet. Against passive players you are losing value, and against more aggressive players being OOP I would rather let them raise me on this board rather than you raise them - makes it easier to get stacks in when they have weaker holdings imo.

Right that is

standard raise in later phase of mtt is 2-2,5 BB
early more and late position less

with lower Bigblinds I also raise up to 6-7BB, if it the right spot

in this hand
u have 10k behind at flop and the pot is 5k
so its no prob to get this allin without beting the flop
the board isnt very drawy so there is no card really scare u an turn
next problem is, that u have Top set and so its improbably that he has an TP

so I whould chck the flop and call if the bets
if he checkbehind I bet the turn
