I will try to explain why I played that way but now I agree with you that I missplayed the hand.
In the flop I didn't bet because of his low WTSD, I didn't want him to fold, which is going to happen most of the time. This could also induce him to bluff in the turn or at least make a calldown with a medium pair.
At the same time if he was on a FD I'm giving him correct odds (1:5.5) to pay in the flop. That's not the case betting on the turn (1:3.25)
In the river I checked behind because a FD is completed and his call in the turn made me think he was on a draw.
PS: Just as a curiosity he got the flush on the river with J8s (I know it doesnt care to the analysis)
