6,500 GTD $5 Turbo rebuy

SB 15000 BB 30000 ante 3000

I pushed all in from the small blind with A2s guy calls w/ AQo and wins.

353k (effective) into a 66k pot 338k for him to call.

I know this is an easy push in a SNG but I'm not really sure here. Help me out? Basically i want justification so i can sleep at night!

Chip Stacks (before blinds and antes):
BB 371,078.83
UTG 159,894.99
MP2 253,019
MP3 667,487.70
CO 149,096.20
BU 149,156.72
SB 474,266.56

A few hands later I ended up losing a coinflip my 55 v j7s to come 7th for about $215 so pretty happy anyway.

Cheers guys!

easy shove
he doesn´t have there big hand almost never
he would call with worse hands, like KQ/KJ, he might fold better Ax hands and small pp-s, but yeah in the end just a cooler
Blinds are so big, so you can´t really get away A2 on that spot

BUT WHEN HE CALLS U he would call with worse hands, like KQ/KJ-HE WOULD HAVE LIKE 40%MIN CHANCES TO WIN, he might fold better Ax hands and small pp-s-TRUE, MAYBE (A2-A9 AND 22-66), but yeah in the end just a cooler
Blinds are so big, so you can´t really get away A2 on that spot (YES U CAN IMO.UR 3 IN STACK,AND U HAVE LIKE 10BB TO GO IF U FOLD WHILE OTHERS HAVE ONLY 4-5BB AND BLINDS ARE GOING IN THEIR WAY)

the problem here is when u got called ur never big fav to win and ur crippled if u lose, the only +ev thing here is that u have big FE vs BB and he wont call u too loose but u have big FE also vs other players left
and yea in sng is easy shove but in mtt in this spot with ur stack i think fold is best (save play)play, b/c risk reward ratio is not cool imo, and in sng is easy shove b/c u play sng less time and u'll make a lots FT in SNG but not that much FTT in MTT

Thanks for your comments,

I'm more inclined to agree with Kaitz,

Of course I'm primarily playing my FE against this guy, I do not expect my A2 to be the best hand if he calls!! Im playing with a chance of sucking out on him. My Ace also makes it less likely that he has one.

The very fact that there are many shorties in front of him should make it more likely that he will fold!! So that argument works both ways. Is AQo even that great a call here?? I do not know.

A2s was probably at the bottom of my range here, but is there a case for pushing wider - even ATC??

Also does the fact that I play less FTs make any difference to a successful strategy really??

Yup I could have folded and eeked my way up a few levels (actually quite a lot of money to me as a student!!), but if it's +EV it's +EV and that means I make more on average! I really can't justify playing scared here!

- + ev play in MTT doesnt work the same way as in cash games imo, u dont need to play small +ev spots if u thing that u have edge (in skills, in stacks etc) vs other guys
-and in MTT chips win dont have same value as chips won
-i'm saying that u dont need to take big risks small reward moves in this spot, b/c u will be crippled if BB call u, and he win that hand..

-it also depends MOST of ur image on FT, if u were shoving a lot it is more likely that some1 will look u up lightly (u dont want that to happen when u shove a2) and i'll play it save and fold in this spot if i was tight i'll shove

any way i'm not saying that is a mistake shoving i just think that in this spot reward is not good for the risk ur taking

Of course it doesn't work like a cash game, why do you think I referenced SNG's?!?

Also it's not a small reward at over 14% of my stack and I'll be playing push/fold with this stack anyway, which means i'll be looking for easy spots to steal chips.

I had actually 3bet shoved AQ a couple of hands ago and won a huge pot vs KQ, i guess that's quite loose.

I guess I've made up my mind that it was a good play though, but would like to hear more views.

AQ is very standard call there I think people would also call there with AT, maybe also lower Ax hands, depends how short are the other players or how scared he is to reach bigger payouts.
I think my shoving range from sb is around 20% if player is tight

about 20% range, do u think in this spot with those stacks sizes, right?
in other conditions 20% shoving range is to tight imo

I maybe just push 80% ... but u can push here 100%, because i never saw a BB calling loose enough

in mtts the bubblefactor is higher then in sng ... so the bb have to call less then in a sng -> u can push more

Sweet,

I can sleep now! Cheers guys!
