I am a total noob when it comes to computers. But know I have decided it is time for a laptop purchase.
So the question is, how do I measure the performance of a laptop?
I mean do I just look at the ram or is there a spec which tells me how fast is the thing?

It all depends what you want it for mate, but basically the important parts to look at are RAM, HDD space, Graphics card, Processor (Try to get dual core at least, preferably quad core) and Motherboard.
