Hi there I'm a SNG player and I don't know much about cash games. What is considered to be a standard bankroll for $1/$2 No Limit Holdem cash games? Thanks guys!

if you have to ask then i don't think you should play it with any roll
+1
But what about live $1/$2? If any of you have gone to a casino you know that even OP would probably be able to beat it.
At least $6K and probably more like $10K to play $1/$2

live u only need like 4-5K imo
a good thought to consider with how many buy-ins you need to play a certain level is what you are comfortable with, say you have $1000 roll and you play
NL 0.5/0.10 you lose 6 buy-ins its really not going to bother you and i bet you would never tilt but you can have to many buy-ins were you go to the extreme and play bad because you not that bothered about losing and vice versa so you need to find a balance were your are comfortable
I'm pretty sure i could of explained this a bit better but I'm sure you get the gist
its just about playing with what you are comfortable with...........if you feel confident you can play at 1/2 with a bankroll of only $2000, go for it, if you'd rather have 10,000 do that, the way I see it, i dont play a stake if im not 100% confident i can win at it so as long as you have enough buy ins and take a hit of a few bad beats crack on and get winning!
i play with a 5% policy, game is less than 5% of my br i can play it. I lost the buyin i move down and its fine.
I will employ a much stricter policy once im at nl100
