I like the check behind and vs this guy I may very well fold unimproved. The board is dreadful for A-High, we may think we had SD value but we actually don't have much at all. We lose to AK and beat KT and K9, everything else got there on the turn.

If you bet the turn you're not really betting for value becasue you hardly have any, your only really hoping to fold AK. A really tight player may fold an 8 to you but what's more likely to happen is that you get raised and hate life on the turn.

The river is interesting, if he bets we're bascailly calling hoping we either chop with another Ace or beat a Q turned into a bluff so I would still probably let go on the river, he'd need to be bluffing more than 20% of the time and I don't see it. He's passive and SD bound from his stats.

Once he checks I think your value bet is thin but good. We do chop with all other Aces aside AK which is a concern but I'm sure there are some Q's and even 8's if he's super SD-bound and bad that we can get value from and we can get away easily if he raises.
