ok, now I understand why your blog has so many pages ![]()
let me answer in English, it's just way easier and faster although I kinda like French and studied it for some years. at least I understand everything, talking myself it more difficult ofc
I totally agree, having a blog and writing down a lot helps improving. It might also help your readers, but mostly it's a very good tool for self-reflection.
Yeah I found your blog through your English one. I just saw you play FL, NL and PLO and I just had a short look into it. Then I saw you also had a French one so I just jumped in
I don't know how many hands you played in PLO so far, but from what you wrote it seems to me you didn't play much. AAJTds is a power house and will hit many flop and you will also dominate many other holdings when it comes to flopability.
However, variance can be huge and subjective perception is your biggest enemy. You might think (and lying to yourself subconsciously) that you NEVER hit big with those hands. But in fact, those hands are monsters and you should play them fast pre cuz you will hit many flop rly hard and you will get other hands in dominated which you want in PLO.
Also, you have to realise equities run closer in PLO preflop. Even a powerhouse like AAJT ds is only a 2:1 favourite vs 8722 rb and e.g. slightly better vs KK22. Those are best cases basically. In Holdem you could get up to 4:1 preflop advantage. That's just not the case in PLO.
And it doesn't really matter, because it's a postflop game. Turn and River decisions make you money. You can only play those streets maxEV if you have position though, so the - by far - most important single thing in PLO you have to understand is the powerrrrr of position. Coming from a FLHE background I assume that's your biggest leak and you will probably not even realise it. Position makes you money, dont forget only 25% of hands go to showdown. Other hands are won somewhere before a showdown and having postion maximises the chances of bluffing if you can read board textures and opponents ranges. Furthermore extracting value in PLO is almost impossible oop, so position is key.
GL with PLO and don't forget to watch videos once in a while, they should definitely give you some ideas how to play this game.
You are diamond, I know you don't play plo highstakes, but still check out Jens Kyllonen's videos. Imo the best on PS.
Sry for trashing your French blog, next time I will also stop by in your English Book
