Are requirements to releasing bonuses pretty much standard across poker rooms or do they vary a lot?
My feeling was that they are more or less the same, make enough wagers without losing it all and they are released.
Today I got a 888 message saying their terms are changing effective May 25th. Here's an excerpt
The Next wager you make will use your Cash Balance first, before using your Bonus Funds
Only wagers made using your Bonus Funds will conribute to the applicable Bonus Wagering Requrements
Wait, does that mean that you basically have to LOSE EVERYTHING before there is even a possibility to have the bonus released? and it has to be released based ENTIRELY on the bonus funds?
Seems like it defeats the point of the bonus, pretty much guaranteeing you've lost money before you can take advantage of the bonus.
Are more pokerooms moving toward this kind of scheme? or have they already? or is 888 just an outlier, / the first to do it.
I guess it's ok and it extends your playtime if your mindset is you're just going to lose everything eventually anyway... I think even for people who play poker as a hobby the goal is to play at a level where your bankroll will last indefinitely. even if you don't plan to make money.
At the very least the goal would be to make a deposit last longer than the general 90 Day expiry of bonuses no?
Seems like they're trying to slip one past without anyone reading noticing how bad a deal their bonuses have become.
