So I take it you have an open poker expert spot now?
Just kidding.. maybe
I'd be able to do it:
1 + 1 = 2!!
Seriously, I am impressed by how... this has been dealt with. And I must say uhm you're all great spokesman.
But I am glad to see that you keep this thread open. Because shame on you. And at least members must be able to voice somewhere that they are disappointed (if they are disappointed). And obviously I am when I'm reading this. Wasn't aware of this at all in the first place.
But you know, somehow it doesn't matter if you fall down. It's about how you get up. And I must say it all sounds very unprofessional.
And you're busy with getting up now I guess. I could also say "let's forget it". But my proposition is "let's just remember it". I won't say it is all unprofessional here. But that's in a time where everywhere these blunders are being made.
This is like 1 millionth of the trouble FTP is in right now.
I guess I am saying different things. My first tendancy is to just forgive you because it has nothing to do with me. But actually I have just followed a coaching session (free) and well. It makes me wonder at least. So yeah this is bad for your image.
But I guess it's all over the news. Basically anyone who's in high management positions at the moment are kind of like... well they are not taken that seriously at least anymore. Not by me at least. Not since the financial crisis began. A lot of people failing these days. Then TEPCO. Then BP (or the other way around). Again BP by the way (recently). News of the World. And obviously Full Tilt Poker.
I guess it's pretty hard to just do a good job, so in that perspective... just be a bit more thorough please.

I used to believe that the coachs hired by PS were great players with given proof. How can we trust other coachs we don't know but that PS says they're good.
Because if the criteria used for hiring new guys is based on their word, I think I should apply.
u shouldnt take anything a coach says as an undoubtable truth, even if that coach is ivey himself. ur supposed to think about the stuff yourself.
its not only the best way to improve, but also allows u to just lol when this guy claims to beat the midstakes for 14bb/100 or something ridiculous like that, then proceeds to 3b some lolbad nl100 reg with AK, bet 2/3 on Kxx and bet/FOLD 2/3 on a blank being oop.
but i agree, not very solid screening (not sure if thats the word) in pokerstrategy lately
i attended one of his live coaching once, and i never wanted to attend another one again.
also he ignored my question.
would be fun if we could have more details in the format of
brag : win $1mil, truth: lost $50k ![]()
this is such a big story, yet i dont feel the hype reading the summaries.

I don't think this has something to do with the financial crisis
Although it has no direct connections to me nor the EN community itself I am glad to see how poker strategy staff does things.
I am happy to see that PS is a clean place with good people, I saw a lot of XXXX in other communities ♦
I've attended several of his coaching sessions. He was always friendly, responsive to any questions and by far the best coach available up to Gold status. He claimed he was playing nl1000 and charging 300$/h for private coaching and I've never heard him talk about anything outside poker like Brazilian models or whatever. Also he never mentioned he plays MTT or SNG.
That's what i know about him from experience. He did refuse to reveal where he usually plays but I've never heard anything out of line from him.

Please do not hesitate to send us any inquiries, also for other communities. My personal email address, should you wish not to directly contact the Managers for that Community, is sven.bertelmann@pokerstrategy.com

Well with the other communities I mean ones outside PS.com, and that is not under your authority I assume.
Here I can only participate in the German community since that's the only 2nd language I know, all I can say about it that it is a pretty well managed part of PS and I like it a lot same as the EN side. What I personally would like is that you guys finally start an ex-YU community (Croatia,Serbia,B&H and so on.) for people like me? ♦
Anyways, I am in a lot eGaming/IT communities pretty similar to PS.com, few I run myself. The thing is the internet gives people the chance to do dumb things like this, I can't say in real life similar things aren't happening, but the Internet has some special aspects, so things like this "case" happen too often. Just exterminate such things with minor publicity and all of us should be more then happy here.
best wishes, Mario from Croatia.
P.S. little advice for other people, thanks for the e-mail but my advice is don't put your e-mails with an @ on posts, as an IT i know how spam bots love scanning forums for e-mails so they can steal/spam them.
Use tags and write them without an @ [at] that makes it less likely for idiotic spammers to hook onto it. ♦
hi Zhusy,
Thanks for the feedback
and for the solid advice there about email and spam. ![]()

If coach was accused of lying and fired from PS service this should definetly reach the news on the front page.

Why? It was in the Poland community...
Anyone who understands anything about running business, knows that these kind of news are not put in to front page.
I am very pleased to see how PS handled this case. We have tons of examples about how bad you can react when something goes wrong. Like Betfair, for instance.

I don't agree with you there.
IMO, a good company is a company that could overcome any kind of obstacles.
Which is what pokerstrategy did with this issue.
But the best company is the one who could use any kind of obstacles to their own advantage. Which is what Poker Stars did by paying out the americans almost instantly. Rather than becoming like FTP they really boost their own image.
Of course in this matter there is an ethical issue. Not posting as news is fine for me
This just confirms all my prejudices about pure mathematicians. Applied maths ftw! And I can prove I suck at poker with graphs and stuff.

You're right half nude chicks on front page are more important than what happens inside community.
