difference between live and online !!?

i have never played live my whole life ( the reason for that i live in a country where it is illegal to play poker or gambling games )

i am curious to know what is the difference between both ? am i missing alot ?

I think there is a quite some literature about the difference between live and online poker. There are other variables that come into play. Jonathan Little has a nice book about live cash games.

From my experience (which isn't a lot unfortunately) I can say that the speed is way slower. You can easily distinguish people how they play and all. We don't have stats so we need to see how they play, act and think. Often when you pay attention to it I think you can identify it pretty fast. It could very well be that you almost have no hand during the cash game session. You often work with odds, more often than in online poker in my opinion. However, population reads are also very good to use when being in live cash games. In the end, I think you can get more profit in live games since casinos often attract recreational players and online there are more regs :)
